Do people not know what smooth jazz sounds like? It's supposed to sound sassy and confident. She captured it perfectly, that's why he loved it. It fits the song and it fits the genre. She added more of her lower register and "growled" more which is exactly what you're supposed to do.

I love how everytime she comes on the show, she makes every cover her own. Not a lot of singers can do that. I'm incredibly proud of her. I hope she gets far and to see her live someday...
