Tuned by DTE is this Toyota Hilux 2,8 GD-6 which features some CPU tuning and a freeflow exhaust. We thought it would be a good idea to pair this custom Hilux up against the current bakkie drag race champion; the Volkswagen Amarok 3,0 V6 TDI.

  • A stage 3 tuned Amarok will do 0-100km in a little over 5 seconds. Most sports hatches would struggle with that
  • interesting, but they will also have to put the Toyota hilux GR V6 stock to compete with a VW Amarok stock I think this would be a fairer race (both diesel or gasoline).

So funny how you need a stage 6 to overtake a Amarok😂

Well, I understand the stance of this race, look at what that Amarok is still doing, stock😳😳 I would like to get your guidance on where I can get an ACTIC 35 look for my Toyota, I already have the huge 17inch wheels, I need the side panels..

That Hilux was over fueling horribly on take off, dumping clouds of black smoke. In that state of tune, that engine ain’t long for this world.
  • @KM-gh3ob
I was expecting a vast comparison given the tuned T- Hilux. + 40kw Just goes to show the Amarok is still the by far best vehicle of the two - Amarok no tune necessary, but imagine Rocky with + 40kw....yaaahaaa👍
  • No meu ver talvez seja um vĂdeo pra promover a Hilux, pois na realidade nĂŁo existe picape mais rĂĄpida que a Amarok v6.

If it’s not a fast and furious themed edit it’s a 1940’s soap opera edit. Almost there guys -
  • Hilux don't have a V6 Diesel, so that's why they tuned the 4 cylinder of the Hilux to get plus- minus the same KW and Torque as the VW
  • @yacinealg152
Even when it's stock, the Hilux is always better than any pick up
  • @J-backy
What ever it takes for the toyota dreamers to have a win u should start the drag with a 10 min involuntary dpf burn off
  • @shogun5041
I dont see the point of using a tuned car against a stock car couldn't you use a v6 version of the hilux
