  • Very clear and concise demonstration on how to fit a basin tap in most situations, especially checking the condition of.the fibre washer and using a centralising washer, incredibly useful for those who dont do this for a living. 100 percent for this video.
  • Watched your videos in the past so just checked this one out as a refresher before changing 2 sets of sink and bath taps at my mums. Centralising washers was a new one on me: worked sound! I used clear silicone under the taps as no rubber washer with the new ones, just back nut and washer for underneath. Good video and pretty clear explanations, many thanks.
  • Thank you for the video, I used this video to replace my wash basin taps, bought all the recommended equipment and used it. Took me 15 minutes maximum and replaced two taps with a single mixer Tap ( Ultra I315X Beaumont Luxury Bridge Basin Mixer Nowst - Chrome ) I bought all the items mentioned in this video from AMAZON. No need to deal with plumber who charge too much and don't turn up on time and can't be bothered with small jobs. This video saved me £80 in Plumber charge and I have bought things which will last forever and add more items to my tool box.

Just had a split tap pouring water everywhere. After your video and the recommended tools, all sorted in a flash. Brilliant video, couldn't have done the job without it.
  • Just a little update on my own bathroom taps. I followed Ultimate Handymans instructions and tips and fitted new taps to my mums bathroom sink. Including the tissue paper tip to make sure I had no leaks. Worked a treat..... Thanks once again Ultimate Handyman

Thanks for this. I'm fairly lousy at DIY but this vid gave me the confidence to have a go at replacing the bathroom sink taps and I made a fairly decent job of it, I think.

A lot of people no doubt go into this thinking its an easy job, but you've given some great tips and advice to ensure the job is done properly and right first time! I doubt I would ever need to do this anytime soon, I just watch the vids for the tips a tricks included out of pure interest, thanks a lot and keep it up!
  • Thanks for the help, I never realised they made a box spanner that size. It makes the job so easy. Thanks peterpest
  • Great video, really informative. Was going to rush into changing my taps but this video showed me a few things to look out for, I'm certain it'll save me from making silly mistakes and messing the job up!
  • @bladze
Thank you so much for this video, very clear and simple to follow. You have turned me from a boy into a man & saved me some money.
  • Excellent! Never done this job before - leaking broken tap upstairs dripping through downstairs ceiling this morning - Thought it would be nightmare - Fixed it myself this evening! Thanks.
  • @handsontom
Very clear and well explained instructions, even to the name of the spanners and the centralising washer which I had never heard of, thanks , saved me getting in a plumber!
  • Great video, thanks a lot. We have an old shack in Tasmania. I decided to have a go, made an awful mess, didn't have the right spanners. Put it all back together, found your video, trip to Bunnings. Now I'm about to have another go. Cheers.

We need more helpful people like you in this world :D
  • Thanks for the video, will be very helpful. Was going to try and replace basin taps this evening but will need to buy some of the tools you're using, so will try it tomorrow. The instructions on the taps I bought say I have to install hot tap to the left (as you said also) but currently the hot tap is on the right. Also I have no wires connected to my pipes. I trust that if I just replace taps as they are installed now, there won't be a problem?
  • @reaVIRGO1
Thanks very much - an excellent step-by-step guide to replacing taps with all the tips I need to have a go myself!..I especially like the test for leaks... eminently sensible...
  • @jurejo
This is really brilliantly explained. Thanks a bunch. Nice to see here some British videos. I would like to save some water & read somewhere that is possible to fit in water flow restrictor in basin taps. I am struggling to find taps with one already fitted in. I would like one that allows only 1 liter of water a minute. Are those water restrictors any good & where do I get those single basin taps? Thanks
  • very useful channel - I'm having a go at the taps tomorrow, learn a few new things here... thanks for the uploads...
  • @sandydogy
great video Thanks, I am about to do my bath taps and would like to know with the hot water my house has no central heating just an imersion heater do I need to drain the hot water tank turning the cold off and running the hot tap dry or is there a way to turn the hot water off Thanks Ian
  • The instructions for my shiny new taps were really unclear so it's really helpful to see it step by step on a video. Funny, my old basin taps are the twin the ones shown on here, save that even more of the gold effect has worn off.
