Published 2024-07-26
Nick Sprague, a dedicated firefighter and critical care paramedic, was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. He discusses his early symptoms, including changes in bowel habits and abdominal pain, which were initially dismissed as minor issues.

During his colonoscopy, Nick was partially awake, and he remembers seeing a mass on the screen. A few days later, the results said it was cancer.

The mood changes or the room goes quiet in a colonoscopy it means not good news. I am sorry that you have had that experience 😢

No patient of mine has ever felt odd about having a medical procedure which is to protect your life. I would save the social media smiles and thumbs up for each birthday you will have for the rest of your life as colon cancer metastasized issues will always be a threat
