Yep. Siphon effect. Easy & effective. We cut a large plastic coke bottle in half. Used the cap end to screw on the hose. It’s much more efficient having a big large scoop like the bottle.

I just jump in to clean my pool as an exercise session.❤️

So smart! We're off grid, so using gravity is always a better choice for us!

I would use a shorter hose and duct tape a vacuum attachment to the end of it 🤗

I might use that for the small dust but I use a piece of filter media to catch thos bigger pieces once I swirl the pool to get it along the lines at center. My poly pool has a star pattern with I think 6 lines. Thank you for this.

I have always ended my swimming for the day by making a whirlpool -- leaves it pretty much set to clean the next day.
  • I think you are correct about the galvanized tank. Chlorine pool chemicals may create a very large battery. I have 4 -55 gallon plastic rain barrels that I bleach to keep the 'skeeters down.
  • they make a small spa vac that has a mesh bag on it that you connect to a water hose. they are cheap and a lot let work. No water loss with them either.

Can you please link the chemicals u did use? I can’t find it on your videos butt wow love ur adventuring!!!!!
  • I just bought mine today … what did you use to seam the middle of the bottom of the tank ???! Thank you for your videos 😄

Put the garden hose over a return line to fill up hose

So, what do you use when you have to use anything?? And would I need to put a cover on it when we don’t use it during the summer?
  • @bonitajones430
I use shop vac and when it changes noise because it's full I don't shut it off until I take top off and flip container on it's side. The siphon continues without power. And 2 people makes it easier

Just fill the hose with the house spigot and use a small ball valve so you don't clog your hand sprayer or stir up the bottom moving the length of hose around in it. Plus you don't drag dirt in from a dirty hose.
  • Good idea but too slow for me I bought a battery operated vacuum and it works great
  • I just keep a cover on mine, it keeps the dirt out and the cool in. And in Texas heat that's important.
