  • Paul I retired from a pool store and I would recommend changing that filter to a small sand filter. Those paper filters are not very effective and most people deal with algae issues when the heat comes. They may work for a small stock tank but a sand filter will save you hundreds of dollars over time. If I may add, please use an oxidizer in the tank to keep it clear. It will eat the skin oils and bacteria in the small body of water and keep it crystal clear. I love the idea of having a stock tank for something to cool off in and I had many customers who did so with great success. You did a great job explaining the process! One more thing! The pump should run one hour for every 10 degrees weather per every 10 thousand gallons .

  • I remember the original video! glad you got it set back up. We installed an above ground pool in the backyard last year ourselves. Kerri insisted she get some sort of pool since I got a shop, tractor, and mower, hahahah. It was during my phase of not wanting to do any videos after the lightning hit the house and had no computer or anything. We went with a 30' diameter pool that is 2 feet into the ground.

Excellent videos. Would you please post the Intex fittings needed. I have searched eBay and Amazon but the pictures do not look like the threaded intake and exhaust fittings you have. the only show the hose clamp ones. Thank you.
  • How far apart are the inlet and outlet holes? Did you do length of hose from filter?
  • Can you use the drain hole with an adapter to connect to the pool filter instead of drilling two holes?
  • @ObieOne2002
Thank you, very helpful. Does the bottom of the pool get buildup, meaning, do you ever need to scrub the bottom or sides of the pool?

Thinking about doing this to replace our jacuzzi. This would be better for our needs. Wife can’t use the jacuzzi because of the heat. Plastic holding up well in the sun? Seems everything thing here (SC) made of plastic becomes brittle. I’m thinking I will go over the top with piping to eliminate drilling through the side.
  • @missromie1
did you make that little deck over the pump yourself?
  • how durable is the tank? can it be partially buried? or best left above ground?
  • @SR-ic9oc
Paul, where did you get the rubber gasket for the inlet? Did that come with it?
