Chris Hayes: It's easier to argue about what college kids are doing than to confront the human misery and destruction that's happening in the actual conflict which is, of course, the source of these protests.

how did this even make it on air? props to Chris Hayes for being on the right side of history.
  • @kaponos
This is the only coverage I have seen today that actually focuses on the core issue at hand. Really great work Hayes.
  • @bigfish6909
Thank you Chris. Finally someone in the mainstream who speaks the truth.
  • The best commentary I've heard about the protests. The context no one is talking about
  • @davidsmith4572
Watch out Chris. This type of reporting/commentary will get you sacked. You might have to team up with Medhi.

Chris Hayes thank you. I sobbed listening to this. Thank you for speaking the truth that history will show. Politicians think if they lie, the truth will not be told, but history will tell the truth about genocide in Gaza and abuse by authorities and police on our own campuses. As a Jewish democrat, I am horrified that this is happening under a democratic president and in my own city of Los Angeles, that Karen Bass is allowing police brutality on our campuses.
  • Be careful Chris Hayes… talking like this got Medhi Hassan fired… the higher ups may be listening…so disappointed in MSNBC… but I’m proud of you for this insightful posting
  • I was in high school when the national guard killed 4 students at Kent state ...I thought we had learned so much....till now.

Finally! A refreshing and well-rounded piece that thoroughly covers the entire scope of the situation. Great work, Chris!
  • Do you remember the Cop City Protests in Atlanta? THIS militarized response is G.I.L.E.E. (The Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange) Why have our police officers from all over the country been trained by the Israeli Army for decades now? You'll find the answers to this in the a Mainline article from Sept 2020 titled "From Atlanta to Palestine" And those answers will answer so many decades old questions about the rise of police brutality in America.

Finally prime time news talking about this

antiintellectualism and an inability to learn from history

The response to STUDENT protests in this country whether today or in the sixties is frankly repugnant. It’s uncivilized and is the sort of thing that makes a joke of our claims of democracy and human dignity.

Thank you for trying to present an objective view of both sides of this conflict. My late husband was a pacificist and would be appalled at what we ostensibly are supporting.
  • @Val-uy2me
Hi Chris: thank you so much for your reasonable approach to this awful situation. I used to like Morning Joe, but their rhetoric about the student protests is wrong & inflammatory. Thank you for being a voice of reason.
  • @user-lt7xv3ti6r
I was a Vietnam War student protestor. Thank you for your understanding and voicing of the source of the students' protest as motivated by compassion for humans who are suffering and dying and your unveiling of the way the university administration requested police responses have been vastly disproportionate and have prejudiced the public against the protesters!! Mahalo!
  • @saawsome
thank you for trying to tell the truth
