Berlin-based lawyer Nadija Samour and her colleagues fight against the suppression of Palestinian voices in Germany.

Throughout 2023, they have defended constitutional rights in the face of growing prejudicial policies and bans on all things Palestinian.

Since October 7, 2023, authorities have further clamped down on Palestinian activism in Berlin but Nadija will not give up her struggle for Palestinians.

Palestine: Banned in Berlin is a documentary by Nahed Awwad and Mariam Shahin.

I am from Germany and it's truly disgusting. The Media calls every Pro Palestinian Protester a "Jew" hater, not only that, "Muslim-Antisemetism", it's beyond comprehension.

Germany apologising for its colonial past in Africa while simultaneously supporting the racist Apartheid settler colonial Regime of Israel is the epitome of hypocrisy. Shame on Germany.

As an Irish woman protesting weekly at Pro-Palestinian marches, vigils and protests in Ireland, there is zero pushback for our protests as the government and society largely agree, but it's a whole other ballgame in countries like the US and Germany that are in the pockets of Israel - you people are so brave and I stand with you for all you do. Solidarity from Ireland. Free, free PALESTINE!!!!

I thought Germany had decided Never again meant Never again for anyone. If they aren't careful, Israel will have them repeating their historical sins.

I'm sorry aljazeera but this is not really the reality. I live in Berlin. Palestinian demonstrations are happening very often. Only when it gets violent and vandalism happens, which is on many occasions (fireworks were thrown at police cars also) does it escalate. Also a lot of times you hear antisemitic cheers (expell the jews for ewxample) and see jihadist flags, and this is unlawful in Germany. Not all of them and I'm sure there were some unfair arrests, but I wouldn't say it's disproportionate to other demonstrations that seem to escalate (understandable when emotions are high). In universities also an aula was occupied for over 24 hours and only then did the police step in, because yes, it is illegal to occupy public universities. Jewish and Israeli students were harassed as well. In the Udk a demonstration with very violent symbolism took place and no consequences happened. It's about protesting with solidarity, not aggression.

I am a german from Berlin and I have gone to almost all protests in the last weeks. I am proud of everyone that continues to attend those demos regardless of the horrible framing and narrative that the media and politics have. Stand up for whats right, dont let peoole tell you that your hateful, that you dont fit in this country because of your beliefs, religion or ethnicity. I and many others won't accept this. Love from Berlin

In germany mostly Berlin, if the protest goes out of hands then police would intervene. When I was in Berlin, we saw protests some peaceful and some protests where people are radical, doesn’t matter Middle East or white, then police would intervene so it won’t spiral out of control. If 30 out of 100 are rotten, this brings emotions higher. It’s the responsibility of the organisers to manage but it’s difficult with huge protests, they are not equipped and radical elements join these protests.

Germany has once again proved super inert progress in fighting its internal racism. Ms Samour, Germany needs souls like you💎

Just look at the difference when pro Jews and pro Palestines protest. And what do you mean, how did the Diaspora contribute to the good of Berlin? I am a friend of peaceful people. Nobody in Germany stops peaceful demonstrations.

What a tricky tightrope Germany treads. On one hand it is trapped by its history of WW2 but then repeats the mistake with its attack on another group.

I watched this video with tears and deep feelings not only for the Palestinians in Gaza, but also for them in Germany. Thanks for sharing this video! Free Palestine❤
