Featuring the HO scale Walthers Proto EMD GP7 locomotive with DCC and sound, this video demonstrates some of the realistic sounds of the prototype. As it collects the various rolling stock from the industry loading docks in the valley, the train becomes heavier and you can hear the sound of some brakes squealing and couplers hooking up.
Rolling stock is a real mix of different eras and manufacturers. In order as they're picked up, you see a Mantua Classics 1860 era horse car which has been modified with Kadee body mounted gearboxes. Next is a Walthers Mainline modern era boxcar, Accurail 2 ton open hopper, Bachmann old time "Suzie Q" boxcar, and Bachmann bobber caboose. All upgraded to Kadee 148 couplers which improved performance tremendously when it comes to switching operations in the yard as demonstrated here.
Thanks for watching!
(Did you notice the man sleeping against the building in the foreground? That guy can sleep through anything!)

Very nice switching action Tom! Nice sounds on that loco! That building looks great with the lights snd the roomette interior also. Thanks for the link. 👍🏼
  • Really cool sounds and switching! My favorite part is the guy crashed out on the doorstep. How's he managing to sleep with all that noise? Also I like all the different cars.
