I eat Natto every morning with some rice. You gotta add a bit of mustard and soy sauce to it. It’s strange at first but you get used to it. If you get used to it, it tastes like roasted chestnut. But you have to stir it up aggressively to activate it. And it shouldn’t cost $12. The most I paid is $1.99 for a 3 pack at the Japanese store.

I started eating natto last week. I never had an adverse opinion of its smell ( I adore Stinky Bishop cheese) or presentation, I do add nutritional yeast it is so delicious and more benefits.Buying it in the various market available is really pricy. So I purchased an Insta Pot to make my own but I also got it to make my Bulgarian Greek style yogurt. Life is wonderful, youtube is marvelous, and meeting people like you and your son takes it to another stratosphere ;-) THANK YOU!
  • I bought Natto that was Frozen from an ASIAN Grocery store from Japan and Korea! It was in many different flavors with hot mustard and there was also BLACKBEAN Natto, which I really liked! I have Coronary Artery Disease. I will continue to eat this every day! Thank you for informing me about the "Natto" benefits! I encourage you to look for an Asian Grocery Store to purchase different Natto. 😁👍I'm in Chicago were I purchased the "Natto".

Natto is amazing. I tried it for three months straight. I ate Natto with mustard and hot sauce. It made my hair grow. I am trying to lower my cholesterol and increase my iron. It costs me 99 cents per pack.

Good practical video. My homemade version is milder than commercial products. By controlling the fermentation time, I control the intensity. Also I eat it mixed with other food, as do traditional consumers in Japan. In my case it is broccoli sprouts and prepared mustard. Thanks for being a real person on your channel and going beyond the “talking head.”

So glad you did this. And the comments about ingesting with other foods
  • I mix it in with homemade sauerkraut and a little mustard. Also, it's pretty easy and inexpensive to make.

Very informative. Thank you. You have to eat natto the way Japanese do to enjoy them. We eat this for breakfast with a little soy sauce, Japanese mustard (karashi) and chopped green onions over a newly cooked rice. I also like it without rice with all the toppings I mentioned above. And of course, a simple bowl of miso soup with it is really nice. Oh, and the secret is using chopsticks to avoid slimy strands going to your face. 😊
  • Bought Natto tonight at Asian Market. It came with seasoning packets. I watched a couple of videos on how to eat Natto, eat it with rice or toast. Had it on toast, delicious! I will replace my cream cheese with Natto! You tube Natto Dad gives directions for fermenting Natto. Done right you will enjoy Natto daily with breakfast. Thank you so much! 🍽🙏
  • Your son was is awesome like you What an all around educational and entertaining video 🎬🙃💖

What brand did you get, could you provide a link?
  • i just started purchasing it from a local asian market. very cheap! i find the flavour unexciting to eat on its own so I mix it heavily with kimchi and use it as a salad substitute. i am eating it for cardiovascular maintenance. thanks for the video
