The problem with this match-up is that both versions would enjoy the fight too much to actually finish off the other one

Gogeta really drew the short end of the stick here when one of his strongest moves needed his opponent to be somewhat evil.

Alot of people don't realize that the ONLY reason Vegito toyed around with Buu as in the manga, and the series Dub / subbed. He wanted Buu to absorb him so he could free everyone inside. It was a planned event he wanted Buu to do.

Gogeta using the Stardust Breaker on a non-evil opponent is the equivalent to dousing yourself in water to cool off while swimming in the pool.

Gogeta in GT always struck me as a reference to Son Wukong and how he was a trickster at heart

It's interesting to note that at the very last moment, just before Gogeta's dragon fist connected, Vegito used kaioken. This would have given him ample power to completely overwhelm Gogeta, assuming their power levels at SSB were very close if not identical. It's too bad Gogeta didn't also use kaioken at the last second.
