also don't mind the cut on my forehead, i got into a brawl with a clown who was trying to prevent me from putting this video out... i bested him in combat though so don't worry
  • "no evidence of clowns" is really funny to me cause I just imagine police finding a trail of oversized footprints and baloon animals

My grandpa was a professional clown. He would have been so disappointed.

I remember this. My brother wanted to dress as a clown that year because of it, but my mom, typically a rational woman and a woman of science, said no, because she was afraid he’d get shot.
  • I remember that in Poland a mysterious clown appeared in Koszalin. He started leaving notes on Instagram and it all turned into a huge detective game, everyone who wanted to could be involved. I think all the clues lead to some sort abonded building in the middle of the woods and I don't remember how the whole "game" ended but I don't think it was dangerous. Just someone setting up clues on the internet and letting people have fun EDIT: I checked and the whole game ended up being for charity for sick children

"but police investigation found no evidence of any clownery" "so naturally i was banned from entering pretty much any public space" you're so good at blending exposition and comedy. i love your videos

2016 felt like a fever dream ngl
  • The idea of Izzy being banned from public spaces for her makeup makes me chuckle 😂❤

I was in 2nd grade when this went down. I recall playing Killer Clowns at recess with friends. What a completely normal thing for 7 year olds to be doing.

"police found no evidence of any clownery" that made me laugh so hard
  • I feel so bad for professional clowns. They just wanna entertain, and make people laugh. They have their own code of ethics when in costume, and take their profession seriously. I respect them and wish them better experiences and treatment

Love your calling it a “clown infestation.” Like “Honey, call the exterminator; those damn clowns got into the attic again!”
  • @bluepearl5822
I think the whole problem with the clown thing is that once it hit the internet, what could have STARTED as a prank was quickly piggybacked on by people wanting to commit real crimes.

we had kids on the playground being our "lookout" for clowns when it happened lmao

As someone who is terrified of clowns, this was an absolutely horrifying trend. During this time, two clowns were spotted lurking with knives opposite a train station by my house, and I didn’t want to go out for weeks. Thank GOD this trend ended pretty quickly.

I clearly remember the late 2016 clown hysteria, I was 12 at the time and everyone in my middle school was so worried and were talking about it lol. Man stuff like this makes me miss 2016, it was a really odd year but it was also fun.
  • Thank you. I was hoping someone would cover this. It was truly one of the most bizarre moments of the last decade

Someone I know accidentally contributed to this. She's a burlesque clown and was getting a cigarette out back of a show. When she lit up some kids saw her white face lit by flame and just stared in terror. Feeling awkward and not knowing what else to do, she was like "...want some candy?" and they ran away screaming. The news reported something like "depraved clown tries to lure children into a back alley with candy"
  • In 2016, I was a senior in high school in Colorado. On October 6th of that year, my school district sent out an email with the subject “Notification Regarding Creepy Clown Rumors”. It was the most insane thing I’d ever read in an official email and I made sure to immediately forward it to my non-school email (because I was graduating and the school account would soon be deactivated). I still have it and it is truly a relic of its time.
