Dragon's Dogma is an interesting IP by Capcom that has flown under the radar of many people. 12 years later, we finally get a sequel to a cult classic. Does it improve upon the first game?

This game gave me hope for gaming experiences i mean like totaly immerse yourself and forget about time and everything else .. pure fun and adventure 😢😅 i love it
  • This game is amazing!! I will be playing it for many years to come. Thank God!!
  • i started a oblivion video that popped up on my homepage, then wanted to see something about daggerfall while im working, stumbled upon you, watched that video, your arena video, and now this. new sub, love your vids
  • it’s good ARPG because the combat has a lot of depth and variety. there are so many different ways to play, not just vocations but also the exact skills you equip. there are also so many cool interactions between the player and the world as it pertains to combat, like toppling a cyclops to use as a bridge, or pushing a boulder off a cliff onto a big group of hobgoblins. the soul of this game is really in its combat, I had much more fun exploring the world of Elden Ring and the combat was more *challenging*, but DD2’s combat is just more fun.

You made an absolutely great point about the microtransactions, the analogy of eating fast food, watching porn, hell I'd say even going to a supermarket engages in practices that inspired and created microtransactions. Has anyone ever noticed how the candies, chips, sodas and all sorts of junk are always by the cashiers? They're there to prey on the dopamine depletion you have by the time you've chosen all your groceries, it's a great idea as at that point, a buck or two for a candy bar or a soda doesn't seem much for a treat, does it? That's called product placement strategies in marketing, anything you ever buy anywhere that is either in a franchise store of chain uses it to get extra bucks out of your pocket, go wage wars on that, that's what started the problem.

I played dark arisen over before 2 came out so i can see the changes clearly and overall it feels like a refined version of the first game almost everything has been upgraded especially the melee combat the fact that I can pin enemies down now rob them then start wailing on them with my daggers while my pawn stomps on them then gives me a high five after feels amazing 10/10 will recommend 👍
  • I agree with the title of this video this game is one of the best action rpgs ive played in a while
  • I swear the reception of this game has been one of the most schizophrenic receptions I've seen in a while. Outside the outright lies around microtransactions. People either loved the game with passion or hated it with even more passion. There was no middle point. Either way. Thankfully the game sold really well. So we will probably get more Dragon's Dogma in the future.

I miss Mystic Knight and a couple of other things but Dragons Dogma 2 is easily my game of the year. It has its flaws but at least flying enemies can fly unlike in Elden Ring

bro i was suprised you only have 9k subs. the commentary was really good and you came preparing with facts about the old game most people dont consider. im having an absolute blast i haven't been able to scratch this itch since witcher 3 or red dead
  • I feel like the microtransactions were only as bulked up as they were because the pc port was so broken in the first place (and likely still suffers from)

Dragons dogma 2 is the best action rpg since Elden ring just needs more enemies and new game plus scaling or hard mode

Has the almighty algorithm never pushed this channel?

A reason I've seen that some of the stuff is underbaked (enemy variety, soundtrack, story, optimisation) is that A the game was developed in about 3 years and B the game had 400 credited employees working on it, whilst most Capcom games get 1000 to 1500. The fact it came out as good as it did with half or 1/3rd the normal capcom budget is impressive, and an expansion to add more enemy variety is what I am most looking forward to, besides the optimisation patches

I expected to like this game but was surprised at how much I like it. Not since Skyrim have I experienced a game with such addictive exploration, it's a "stay up way later than I should for just one more quest" game for me I mean I usually hate companions in games like this and almost always play solo, but in this game I find the pawns especially my main pawn, so weirdly charming. I make a habit of never watching guide videos before I've put some solid time into games like this. Just to avoid spoilers but also because of things like this: when my main pawn died, I was heartbroken. I'd spent hours exploring the countryside with her, she'd had my back fighting hordes of enemies, I'd chuckled at her weird sense of humour. It wasn't until one of my other pawns mentioned that I could resurrect her at a riftstone that I actually realised this was possible. I didn't learn that from watching a YouTube guide, I'd learned it organically by simply playing the game. Any game that can make me care about a companion NPC that much is a winner for me. I couldn't care less about best builds, OP builds, best pawns, "beating" the game, etc. All decisions are made by instinct not strategy, and the game is so much better for it. This is fast becoming one of my favourite RPGs.
  • I like the game... but it felt like they didn't expand what they created in the original first game. They could've introduced some kind of marketplace system to make gold. (Not buying 100 apples and going across the map to sell it manually thus accidently discovering the whole map) The housing system is usless. Why wasn't a portcrystal added to the homes you purchase a long with maybe a place to put your wins from battle on display. A kitchen to cook foods with the ingredients you find across the land for buffs. The creatures need to be expandeds along with the ones at night. I feel like I just fought goblins repeatedly along with the saurians for some reason.
