The Forest is one of the most revolutionary survival games ever made. It is a game that helped to pioneer the survival game genre and it is absolutely AWESOME!

I think the forest is far from an ugly game. When my friends from the desert or from the Low Countries in Europe ask me what the forests around me look like, I always ask “have you played The forest?” They did such an amazing job portraying North American eastern coast forests. Of course I’m from Appalachia so some differences in terrain but, walking through the woods in this game is almost photorealistic at times, and it almost makes me feel at home, like a kid again exploring the creeks and woods around where I live. Until the shout of a local off in the distance reminds me I’m not alone…then that comforting cloak of the forest smothers you…
  • The thing that makes the cannibals so captivating is the Ai. EndNight did an amazing job utilizing the Ai in interesting ways. They can get scared and run off the get more reinforcements, climb up trees to watch you from a distance, build strange effigies outside your base in an attempt to run you off, they can hit each other and more. Not to mention the fact that as you get further and further into the game, different types of cannibals come out that make your job a LOT harder. In SOTF apparently they have upped the Ai a ton. Cannot wait.
  • Playing the forest alone is scary while me and my friend made it our goal to collect every animal head in the game and put it on that huge tree on the shore where we had our base. That's the The Forest co op experience in a nutshell and it's just as funny as it sounds

This is the only game that actually freaks me out about dying.

Spoilers! Correct me if I'm wrong, but Timmy didn't kill the audience in the talkshow, in the new cutscene you see him recover from the seizure without mutating.

Highly underrated game, that doesn’t get the love it deserves. Can’t wait for the 2nd one to come out. 😄 The Forest is a simple, yet complicated game. That really immerses you in the game. It can be clunky, but is still overall a fantastic game. And hopefully the 2nd one can live up to its hype. 😅

I never beat the game, but I did plat a lot of it. And I can tell you, it scared me more than most modern horror games. The first scare legit got me to close the game because of how unexpected it was. I was exploring the world and came across a cannibal base, and being the moron I was, I decided to take on the group, and, of course, got myself killed. Now I expected to spawn back at the plane, however, instead I spawned inside a cave. I had no torches or anything to light up the area, but I tried pressing on. I ended up falling into a pool of water, and that's when I heard it. Growls and screeching that got my heart racing. I couldn't find my way out, so I just quit the game and restarted the next time I played.
  • Me and my friend started playing this 2 years ago and the first time we played was a horror movie we got so scared we took a 2 hour break. It’s one of the best survival games I’ve played and I can’t wait for sons of the forest.

I'm sure it has already been said, but Timmy didn't kill anyone. He was able to gain control of himself which is why in the next game he'll probably still be continuing to deal with controlling the monster inside of him

the forest is pretty buggy and i wish the VR support was better but the game is really good still and the art direction especially in the caved and on the mutants designs are awesome and creepy as hell. The cave with the corpses praying to a painting of a black object gives me chills in VR
  • i started playing this game again about 2 hours ago after not playing for like 2 years and then you upload this, crazy timing lol
  • The Forest is one of the best games I’ve ever played, and I mean that 100%

14:44 That isn't true, Timmy stops convulsing after you pick him up and hold him closely. That part of the cutscene was left out of the video.

I hunger for the forest 2. The trailer looks soooo good.

Gotta love how you end up in the [ENDING SPOILER] wearing bones and skin of mutants. You really do become what you once feared and even felt bad about killing so brutally.

south, in the bottom of the map, there is a tiny island, next to the beach with the boat. you can connect the shores with a zipline, which also transports logs, so you can buld a completly cut off islandbase which is 100% protected against the big mutants from all sides. helped me a lot.

One of the few games that me and my girlfriend completed in coop. Going to the caves to get some gear while evading a Virginia and some creepy looking hoping babies... Really unique experience.
