I understand that babes were left unattended outside shops and homes in the past. The presents talked about, CD player and computers, seem far too late in time to still do this. In the US babies were also placed in cages outside which were at attached to a window sill in order to get some fresh air. I think that was the 40βs and 50βs. Canβt even imagine it now. Thinking about how precious it was to hold my baby. Yesterday was her birthday ... she woul been 35. Now sheβs forever 32. Much love to all esp those whose babies arrive in heaven. πππΊπΈπ

I am 70, when I was young we mothers would let our babies sleep outside in the sunshine on the front lawn, in their buggies. no one ever stole our babies. we would leave the stroller outside the store as we went inside. i know i know, we just didnt know any better, but it seemed safe back then, now a days no way.

I was born in 1959 and i walked to school 3 miles to and fro each morning it was all dark no street lights nobody was ever worried.

Many thanks Mr. Goddard. These Brit mysteries of the 80s/90s stand head and shoulders above almost anything being offered today. I enjoy them immensely. Wexford is a class act I could watch ad infinitum π

Good to see things from the past. Thank you for postings

"Love" - the only gift we all truly need, and it doesn't cost a penny. Why is it so very hard to give?
-
Yeah...I can't say I'd ever feel safe doing that in any era or place. We used to sleep outside in the summer in a screened room but once again different times.

I'm watching this in January 2021, from Catalonia. Have a better new year, everybody.

Ruth Rendell created very believable characters and the actors fit in seamlessly. The stories are often not so much about the crime, but the turmoil in peopleβs lives. An extraordinarily good series - thank you for uploading.
