Do you guys have any suggestions for future analysis videos?
  • 1) NWR1991 made a video about Scotsman's Australian tour that's inspired by and slightly based upon the format of The Unlucky Tug's USA tour video, and NWR1991's Australian tour video is as informative as Tug's USA tour video, so it might be worth linking as well. 2) Shame they didn't make Scotsman's and Gordon's brotherly connection more prominent then what they did in The Great Race. That movie REALLY suffered because of Thomas-centricity. If it had been more of a Gordon-centric movie, we might've seen Scotsman come to a dead halt to help Gordon out after the elder brother went and, literally, bust his boiler. Could've even had Scotsman push Gordon to the finish line all Cars-like and have Scotsman call Gordon big brother to add to the emotional weight of the moment. Heck, maybe they could've even snuck in a moment with Spencer at some point, maybe after the race, where all three engines acknowledge their shared Doncaster and Gresley heritage, and maybe have Gordon and Spencer settle some of their differences and make their rivalry a much more friendly one after a moment of arguing between Scotsman and Spencer where the silver A4 incredulously asks Scotsman why he helped Gordon in a very insulting manner which would result in Scotsman giving Spencer quite the humbling tongue lashing for treating Gresley's prototype Pacific, and Spencer's cousin, in such a manner. Man alive did The Great Race have some HUGE potential for being an emotionally heavy and mature film. Confound all this Thomas-centricity.
  • February 24th, 2023, marks the 100th anniversary of the Flying Scotsman, the first steam locomotive in the world to reach 100 miles per hour! 100 years for the first to go 100 mph! How incredible! Happy 100th Birthday Flying Scotsman!!!
  • Wow! That was really great! I didn't realize half of that before watching!
  • Besides rail tours, they should make steam locomotives do cargo work and help out with express trains again.
  • Sorry to disappoint anyone, but I'm one of those few people who's not totally fond of the whole 'little brother' trope between Gordon and Scotsman (cause Gordon is older than Scot being the first of their kind built) and it's something that's against Awdry's vision of their relationship which I stick to more often.

It sickens me that the Thomas franchise chose to make him look like a boofhead! Thankfully it hasn't remained so! Now that he is heritage protected I hope it's understood that no one can do as they like with him now-there are strict limitations!!!!
  • I like the video, but it's TheFlying SCOTSMAN, so why play as background music "Rule Britannia?
  • Universal pictures should have a biopic Called Wilbert: The Reverend W Awdry Story!
