Parents, never give up and spend time protecting your children and raising them well

Thanks for having the bravery to address this
  • I like Jordan Peterson, I like his style. To be soft spoken and yet speak with authority that truth gives is a gift. He is not a sensationalist, putting on a show, he is a man who has learned important things and tries to impart them with humility so that his presentation will not taint the truth of the message. I think he is very smart and I know a lot of smart people. Peterson is also wise. God said in Ezekiel that Sodom’s sin was that they were arrogant, overhead, and unmerciful, to the point of complete ruthlessness, and that they did detestable things. This tells me that their formication was an extreme symptom and consequence of a life where they had prosperity, a lot of spare time, and they chose to spend there prosperity and time on ruthless hedonism.

A man with no purpose seeks pleasure.

Something to think about even though the inhabitants were struck blind they still kept trying to get in Lots house. That shows you how overwhelmed with their sin they were..We even see that in todays world every day..RIght in your face
  • I think it is about the total surrender to the fleshly desires with no thought of consequence to others , you become your own god
  • "As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all must be most aware of change in the air - however slight - lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness." - Justice William O. Douglas
  • "this is an indication of the danger of not acting with appropriate haste when the time has come" 5:50 love it !

I am thankful for Dr Peterson's examination of Scripture. While I would not use his examinations of Scripture as your sole interpretation, I think it's of great value to have someone learned "outside the church" to offer readings unfettered by liturgy. Again, I am not suggesting ONLY using Peterson's readings, but that Peterson's readings are a great compliment (and sometimes counterpoint) to tradition. Very glad to have watched him speak on Sodom and Gomorrah this morning.
  • These videos don't need music played over them. He is an intellectual, we really don't need it to be "made tabloid".
  • ‘No nostalgia for catastrophy’, what a based way to say ‘cool guys don’t look at explosions’

Lot offered his daughters because he was corrupted by the people around him. Thats part of the meaning of the story. Be very careful of who you spend time with.
  • Charles Spurgeon's sermon 'Remember Lot's Wife' gives a biblical understanding of the text.

The documentary showing what the Sodom Gomorrah area looks like today is fascinating! The ash structures are still standing and balls of sulphur are everywhere.

Jude 7: "In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immortality and perversion. They serve as examples of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire." No mention of being inhospitable in Jude.

In a world where we are all so devoid of meaning and structure, Mr. Peterson uses the very things we have abused, all the logic and freedom and passiveness, to carefully construct a framework of meaning, of logic, of passion, of respect, of love. I am very grateful for Mr. Peterson. He is lifting mountains with his mind. I am very grateful.
