Thousands of families throughout the state are getting ready to go trick-or-treating on Tuesday night.

But are safety concerns in some Seattle neighborhoods putting a damper on the longtime Halloween tradition? KING 5 spoke with some north Seattle residents to find out.

    It doesn't matter if it be tacoma or any city on washington state which is why I would insist that little kids do trick or treating early as in before halloween and in broad daylight before sundown.

  • I live on the Eastside. Pre-pandemic, we got dozens of Trick-or-Treaters. Since then, none. 🤷‍♂

    Has there been a single Halloween in most of America over the last 40 years - big city and small- where parents aren't afraid for their kids? Kids didn't even get Halloween 3 years ago. How are crime fears now any different than they were then.
  • Short answer (to the question posed in the header to this video): Yes. But this is nothing new. "Trick or Treating" has literally been in decline for decades. We (in the US generally) just have the collective memory of a single gnat, that's all.
