Terrapin Review and Tour | Star Citizen 3.11 Gameplay

I had one of these and even though it is fun and unique it's just not useful right now. I CCU'd this one for an Mercury Star Runner which is a far better ship.

This needs to have 2 more variants... A search and Rescue variant for Pilot recovery... and an Armoured Assault Boat variant with like 10 jump seats for security teams / Mercs etc. Also needs a sealable door to the cockpit to create two compartments and a bottomside airlock.

the only "turtling" thing I experienced with the Terrapin is its development.

I fly this - along with a gladiator as well. love these old anvil ships. Use mine for box and combat missions. It needs some love by Anvil designers like the Hornet and the gladiator. They all seem to have been forgotten about in favour for the carrrick arrow and the hawk.

Best ship ever ! 1 bed for 2 ! Shower / toilet, you can take a dump while having a shower and brush your teeth IN SPACE all at the same time ! This ship was made by genious !

I call the Terrapin "The $220 paperweight" One came in my exploration pack, and was CCUed to BMM within days.

oh god those LIGHTS! who thought it would be a good idea to put those in the cockpit, shining directly into the pilot's face! can't see a damn thing haha

if they replaced the scanning station with a gunnery turret (with size 3 weapons), it would make a formidable opponent - a flying tank...or maybe a mining station that can take on hazardous areas like asteroid belts without fear of a few collisions in tight spaces...or remove the chair completely for more cargo space. it really should be a more modular option for the center chair...

For some reason I just love this ship. I have had one in game since i started playing a year ago, now with this IAE I pledged one. I know, I know....not fully implemented game loop, under gunned, under powered, etc....but for me the Terrapin is second kind of cool, it isn't practical and yes it is expensive, but I love the ship so that makes it ok. You can fit the one and two scu crates inside so you can transport a fair amount of gear from looting bunkers. It is good for box missions, bunkers, and I have used it as a daily driver and for rescues. If I am out grinding rep through bunker missions and I want to take something simple that can hold a good few sets of armor and guns looted from downed npcs, the terrapin does ok with it especially if i am tired of running around in one of my Pisces'. Upgraded with top of the line components it is faster than a lot of ships its size. I run it with NDB-28s gimbaled, FR-76 shield generators, JS-400 PS, Ultraflow coolers, and Burst qt drive. it is as well armed and tanky as can be made. Again, for me it is a second cool kind of ship and I am glad that I now own one and never have to be without it.

This is a great ship for running bunker missions, its small size and tankiness means you can park really close to the bunker hiding your ship behind landscape features.

I love terrapin's design and look, it's just Valkyrie baby. Cool ship to deliver boxes, unfortunatelly only for that. It's worth maybe $110 atm.

Here's what I'd do for the Terrapin: 1. Give it a traditional co-pilot seat behind the pilot to serve as the scanning station 2. Put drop seats in the back where the scanner used to be, or perhaps cargo plating 3. Give the pilot 2 x 4 guns, and add missile pods to the ship. Data spikes for future EWAR gameplay. Now, you have a big brother to the Pisces. The "Raptor" of Star Citizen.

Honestly the frame could work as a mobile artillery unit. Replace the dish with a big cannon, you have a quick deploy artillery. We can even do some Star Wars Clone Wars shenanigans with it being planted on a asteroid shooting at a cap ship. But I doubt CIG will do something like that.

If you could replace the scanning chair with a turret and have 1 SCU cargo space this would be one of the most fun ships in the game.

Oh I love this ship i got it from the PACKAGE - UEE EXPLORATION 2948 PACK. I'm keeping it :P shes so adorable and unique haha!
