The Process
---------------------
We're designing packaging for Potato Chips in 5 min, 30 min, and unlimited time! For each package, we'll design a layout, gather stock photos, add custom illustration, choose fonts and typography, and put it all together to form a final product. Each package also gets a logo design.

We'll see how big a factor time makes when designing packages in Adobe Photoshop CC 2022.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced designer, this challenge is a fun way to try some new skills and see how you measure up! Give it a go yourself!

  • i would buy the first version, just because it looks so different. I've never seen a white potato chip bag and therefore it looks extremely classy and elegant.

I think the 30 Minute one is the best one in my personal opinion. Simple yet so effective

Honestly liked the first two the most with the second one being the strongest design. My problem with the last one is the chip type that you used in the packaging, pringles style stackable chips make it seem much more processed than the home made style that kettle chips are supposed to evoke.

Not only youre a great packaging/graphic designer, you’re also a great motion designer/video editor!

I feel it would be super cool to do this in the reverse direction. The longer ones first, then shorter times as you go. That way you can try to see how many of the ideas you came up with in the longer ones you can use to assist yourself in the shorter times.
  • The 2nd one with the special font from the 3rd one and Black Pot logo from the third one would be ABSOLUTE PERFECTION.
  • ngl, that first version of the potato chip was actually pretty good. The minimalistic style was super nice and modern. Great video by the way
  • i thought the last design was a bit noisy at first but once the black was added it in looked incredible!!!

I never thought such design could be achieved so simply! The way you walk us through your thinking process is a joy!
  • I think this video is just proof that with enough time, a graphic designer can achieve a top tier (and also very memorable) design. I love how every single one of the designs still look marketable, not unfinished. Your channel keeps me motivated for the road i'm going for in life.

This guy deserves way more recognition than he gets! He’s the best designer I’ve seen! He’s flexible, creative, and makes FANTASTIC designs! I just wish he uploaded more often so I could watch more videos ❤

This is crazy good! That last one is nuts. The edge duplicate + highlight combo to get a 3D effect? Genius
  • @saadia1403
First, I was impressed with the first one, then with the second one, once you added the textured green, the herbs, salt and adding shadow, I was mind BLOWN! the third one, with the text bending and popping the all natural ingredients with the wood texture was PHENOMENAL! the last minute black was definitely a great choice! if the black pot label from the third one could be on the second one, it would be my favorite
  • @eyyyy9156
I feel like the second one is so good! The packaging immediately lets you know what you’re buying, while still looking nice and professional.

I can’t tell you how relaxing it is to watch these. I’m a filmmaker but I love watching your videos.

I love how he describes the process and the elements in the making of the "Black Pot" logo at ~ 10:04 so simple while it's probably one of the best designs I have seen for a logo... amazing job!
  • @UrLocalTurtle
The 2nd one or you would say 30 minute potato chip bag is my favorite because, it’s simple but also detailed at the same time, and the green contrasts really well with the herbs. Another thing, I would buy all of those chip bags, great job!
