  • People forget that when Purdy was drafted he was actually QB 4 on the depth chart. The 49ers paid Nate Sudfeld a $2 million dollar contract GUARANTEED. So Purdy had to beat Sudfeld to be QB3! The Niners eventually cut Sudfeld basically losing out on $2mil. I know it’s Nate Sudfeld, but when a team pays somebody, they don’t want to cut them super easily in my opinion. Also, my favorite story is when Purdy’s parents bought tickets to the Bucs/Niners game before the season started just to watch Tom Brady! How crazy is that the one game you bought tickets for happens to be your sons first NFL start and wins against Tom Brady of all people!

This story so far has been amazing. I can’t wait to watch part 2. Even non 49ers fans root for this guy.

As a 49er fan, watching Purdy's play last year was the first time in a long time I didn't feel nervous about the QB position. I loved Jimmy G, but sometimes he would just hold the ball almost flat footed, and you would see a defender start coming from behind him, and he would inevitably take the sack. There were several similar instances when Purdy was playing where I was sure he would take a sack, but he felt the pressure and was agile enough to avoid, and extend the play.

I played vs Purdy in high school at Chandler high, I think just about everyone knew that guy was special even back then. I’m excited to see what he can do this year and I hope he continues to be amazing

That he fell all the way to the last draft pick is just criminal tbh

I need a hologram of Nick Saban telling me, “You’re average at best” to motivate me to be my best self everyday.

I was born in Walnut Creek CA and have been a 49ers fan since the 80's and it just so happens that I moved to AZ when I was 21 and even more I bought a house in QC AZ on the same street as the Purdy's. I don't know them well but they were very nice polite family. I went to watch Purdy once and was impressed at how well a HS played and watching him play for my Niners has given me nothing but joy! If you think of all the greats, Brady, Montana, Manning, Elway, etc all of them are like Purdy. Their greatest quality was not any physical talewnt they have but the mental talent thet have. None of them were the most athletic or physically talented on the feild but they were the smartest on the field....Just like Brock! Can't wait to see him lead us to a SB!!! (and no I moved to Houston a few years ago so I don't get to see the Purdy's anymore)

Brock Purdy brought me back to Football! I love this kid and everything he’s about. Praying for his successful return, an offense that can/will protect him and a long and successful career!

I'm not a 49s fan...but, how can you not love and cheer for this guy?

Glock Purdy went from mr irrelevant to Mr Relevant. What a story this man is going to have a movie one day.

Proof that at all levels accuracy, intelligence, poise, and leadership can be overlooked in a age when physical features are the markers. And fun fact, it’s wasn’t a coach, gm, or front office personnel that demanded the team draft purdy, it was a lower lvl scout for the 49ers who begged the team to draft him. The first start against Tom Brady, the greatest late round QB (and all time) in the nfl history just feels like destiny. Just the way he carries himself, the throws he makes, and the extend ability is something we haven’t had in a long time and he truly feels like a franchise qb and it doesn’t seem real that Mr irrelevant could be a pro bowl qb one day. I want Trey to be great so bad but he can’t even make simple throws…

He’s HIM for sure…let’s go get that sixth ring boys!!!!

Wow, Brock got his chance in college eerily similar to how he got it with the Niners. If he went to bama he may be working a 9 to 5 job at the moment. Great video!

Don’t forget that 4 years in college paid off BIG. That’s why he is so collected. He fit perfectly in Shanahan’s offense. Our organization hit the jackpot with this young man. Let’s go Niners!!!!
