Part 1. In this video I start my building journey by planning to craft a 20ft real guillotine in my backyard, all while trying to please the youtube algorithm in an attempt to revive my channel.

I HEAR YOU. So far the major response is that a street sign will be a bad choice for a blade because it is aluminum, which is too thin and weak to hold a sharp edge and stand impact. I will look for thicker steel instead.

Mr. Beast told me that if I look super shocked in my thumbnail and make all the colors vibrant and over saturated that people would click on it more and that I would start making tens of thousands of dollars a month in ad revenue. He said it would make the algorithm happy. All hail the algorithm. twitter.com/RSTYCG
  • Rusty is the one person that I actually believe is underrated. He’s funny, perfectly edgy, not afraid to speak his mind, and just makes good content overall.
  • Don't let the algorithm fool you, the Punished Rusty arc is peak content.
  • Love this style. Creepy, educational, and fitting a musical performance in the mix is tasteful. Also, there was a time where prisoners that were on death row would fight over who gets decapitated first because the blade would become less and less sharp each time it was used, and therefore some people would not experience instant death, but rather bleed out.

Bruh when the apocalypse happens I feel like Rusty’s gonna be one of those survivors roaming with a guitar that we write movies about now

1:23 Rusty using a deathnote to keep track of his sardines is the subtle callback humor I live for.
  • Don’t worry y’all,it’s just a self defense guillotine
  • I love how this guy gives us a brief three minute reality, check and then proceeds to build a guillotine
  • We talked about the french revolution and it's executions just briefly in history class, so I'm glad I actually got to learn stuff from this video!
  • The blade is actually the easiest part in my opinion since you won't be actually cutting bones. Old sign is a good idea since it's made out of good corrosion resistant steel. You could try hardening it similarly to Japanese blades (by masking parts of steel with clay, look it up).this way you could made the blade a bit harder.
  • Hearing James Lee’s voice knocked me off my feet that first instance; I immediately recognized it and was blown away because I’d been wanting to see you two collab for quite some time. Great stuff, Rusty. You’ve got quite the creative mind and your creations are a treat to watch.

This was fucking great. Dark educational doomer content is a thing I didn't know I wanted. How poetic too. PS I saw this in my recommended and it had been a long time since I saw your stuff. I think the thumbnail helped too. Good luck my man.

i find it cool that the blueprints from last video weren't just a joke but, an actual project for a future video, Nice job!
  • On the supports, you'll need to notch the posts and use a lag bolt to fix them to it. Even if you want it to be a modular assembly, you need it. Those angular supports HAVE to be secure and nails or screws won't get the job done. Use a drill with a bit 1/8 of an inch more narrow than the bolts and set your depth to 1/2 inch shorter than the bolt. That should allow it to join the pieces without cracking, but also give it enough surface area to grab onto. Trust me on this. I did construction for a living for years. If you need more, link me to your site.
  • Coming back to rewatch the whole series after the most recent video. Would watch this art over any slop shoved down our throats nowadays.
  • The whole history section is wicked. Would love to see you do a documentary piece on anything in the macabre.
