  • One of the things I am grateful for is seeing these international talents both in front and behind the camera. I'm happy Netflix is making that possible, other studios are really lacking in that area.

And what is clear: This movie wasnt drenched in CGI. It had an actual set outside, actual costumes and even real props like bodies etc. And you know what? It really shows! Finally a good production again.

This movie truly astounded me. I was sucked in from start to finish. So realistic, gives me chills.

I would have to say the scene where the main character bayonets the French soldier in the shell crater is the best scene I have ever witnessed in cinema. The scene could of ended so quickly, but the way they make you awkwardly sit through the French soldiers death for minutes truly instils fear into the audience and for that I would give this incredible movie a 10/10 This is true art and we need more of it
  • Incredible movie. The original film was good but this is so lifelike. Can't imagine actually being there.

i need to see Felix Kammerer in another movie , this guy is pure talent , i wish international movies/actors were more recognised..
  • I decided to watch the movie in German out of respect for the actors and film itself since it originally is in German. I was jaw drop frozen still for 5 minutes after that movie. I felt like I was there. No doubt one of the best movies I've seen this year

People tend to forget that this war quite literally changed everything about the world, including leading up tot he Second World War. Many people don’t know how unbelievably brutal and what a non-stop literal meat-grinder this war was. It is important to study history and films this good and accurate to the time help preserve things for posterity, but my heart goes out to all who were swept up into this horrific conflict, how they were lied to on all sides and what their families endured on all sides. The ultimate message and lesson from ever war is that war it futile. This file made me feel that futility and hopelessness. You can’t help but weep because apparently we seem to have learned nothing. Some things are better but the carnage always continues somewhere. Horrible what humans do to each other. My hats off to the production crew, actors, directors, and all who went into making this important film.
  • I honestly felt sick watching this movie I couldn’t finish it in one go. The world can be such an awful place and you portrayed that brilliantly.. beyond words it was a Great movie adaptation

cried like a baby , even cried watching this every time the main soundtrack kicks in triggers a shit load of emotions
  • @usagithebunny
This movie wrecked me so bad. The actor who brilliantly plays Paul really looks like my baby brother and all I think was him
  • @staceyt6466
The makeup, cinematography, lead actor, and the costumes! All absolutely incredible!
  • I was waiting for the soundtrack portion, and I’m so happy they included it. The soundtrack to this movie was so incredibly beautiful. Bertelmann was phenomenal, the amount of emotion and nuance is each song still plays in my mind, especially ‘Paul’ the last song of the film. It still haunts me to this day. Incredible work on this movie, the best war film of all time.
  • Watching this and then 1899, and realizing they're both productions from my homeland makes me so happy
  • @kingkramer
I'd honestly use this movie in class if I was a history teacher
  • @kenlu7261
Hey yo... I just finished watching the movie. I can't get the imageries out of my head and it's so raw and emotional... man, I really wish war never had to happen. Thank you Netflix for making this movie possible.

this is a movie that deeply disturbed me. and thats a good thing. it is sad, brutal and it shows horror in a way that makes you feel for a second how helpless you can be against such horrors.
  • Imagine being a Czech farmer and just randomly seeing a German division pulling up at the abandoned farmhouse next door

Can we also talk about how, for the most part, the Saint Chamond tanks featured in this movie are done practically? They look excellent and are pretty darn close to accurate
