The R46s are nearing 50 years old. After their overhaul in the early 1990s and a few recent refurbishments, they're reaching the end of their lifespans. This video showcases the BMT's R46 fleet (based out of Coney Island Yard) at New Utrecht Avenue on the Sea Beach Line, and the IND's R46 fleet (based out of 207th Street Yard) at High Street in the Cranberry Street Tunnel.     I remember when the R46s were brand new. They mostly ran on the E and F trains when they were new trains. Sometimes they ran on the N train. Now the R46s are the oldest subway cars in the system. Unfortunately, there supposed to start retiring the R46s next year, when they are replaced by the R211s.

    Enjoy the R46s while you can because in a few years they will be gone. When the R46 final run happens they should put a blue stripe around the lower car bodies and do other things to make it look the way it did when first delivered. Similar to how R32s 3360-3361 were done up to mimic their 1964 appearance.
