SW20 Toyota MR2 2GR V6 - inspection for issues after 500 miles with 2GRFE V6. Also changed the oil

This video has me providing a long overdue inspection after 500 miles last season on my budget Ferrari 2GRFE v6 1993 Toyota MR2. I inspect the underside and hoses after pulling off the under trays to check for leaks, rubbing, damage, etc. I do find a suspension problem and rub in the right rear. I then walk through changing the oil and filter on the car with the engine swap. #v6 #swap #2gr #mr2 #toyota #toyotamr2 #frankenstein #car #cars #trd #mr2spyder #mr2productions #savethemanuals #racecars #racecar #enginesound #enginesounds #engineswap #sw20 #ferrari #jrmotorsports55 #jrmotorsports #carcompany #carmanufacturer #carmanufacturers #youtube #youtubevideo #youtuber #youtubechannel #carrepair #carmechanic #automobile #autorepair

I had the same issue with my rear tires hitting that tab in the back as well. It was due to a failing suspension. It got worse during a roadtrip, and had to cut/sand those bumper to body pinch welds a little bit (not all the way flat). Soon after I switched to the 808 coilovers and I never had the issue again. Definitely look into either repairing or replacing the rear suspension if you're hitting that back tab.

I still think you should cut open the filter, all the metal shavings would be deep down in it. I had a few shavings in mine but i believe its nothing crazy
  • That suspension looks entirely stock, replaced my '93 suspension and it was factory original and verrrrry bad.
