Welcome onboard one of the World’s Greatest Rail Journeys! This First Class Train across Canada has it all!

Watch this video before booking Via Rail’s “The Canadian” train from Toronto to Vancouver! On our journey through vast forests, over endless prairies, and up breathtaking mountain passes, we’ll cover nearly 3,000 miles over almost 100 hours!

The Canadian should be at the top of your travel bucket list. In this video, we’ll leave Toronto on Wednesday morning at 9:55 and arrive in Vancouver on Sunday morning. Along the way, we’ll travel in a First Class train car with every amenity you can imagine (and some First Class Luxuries to surprise you!).

Onboard the Prestige Class experience, we’ll have our own dedicated Concierge Team to take care of our every need, a HUGE bed with a massively comfortable mattress, and delicious food.

Our room is in the Park Car, right next to the unlimited premium, first class bar complete with snacks and other treats along our journey.

We even had the opportunity to get out and explore the area around Jasper in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, which also marked the start of one of the most visually stunning days we’ve ever experienced from the rails!

You’ll see the sights, the food, and gain insight into what it’s like to travel on this incredible First Class Train: The Canadian.

Thanks for your patience, Jetsetters! We've taken a few weeks away from publishing because we've been filming some MASSIVE videos (like this one). More to come...promise!
  • @ZebaKnight
Yes, definitely include prices! I just watched your SF-to-Chicago video. It was great to see the range of prices for different levels of luxury. I especially liked that you posted prices for solo travelers.
  • @electguitarz
I think including prices is good since it helps those wanting to go on these kinds of trips know what kind of budget they will be working with. Though, for people like me, I’m here for the adventure and views. I can’t really afford these kinds of trips, so going on an adventure vicariously through you has been fantastic!
  • Since you ask, YES, please do consider adding basic cost information to your videos! Even a ballpark figure, if the prices are subject to frequent change, would be appreciated, because it's certainly a time-saver (and a dream-saver, for those of us thinking long-term) to have at least some idea to base realistic plans upon. Knowing at the start that the trip is something you simply can't afford right now still lets you watch with pleasure while you add the trip to a bucket list!
  • I'm a Canadian. Back in 1981 I took the train from Toronto to Vancouver. I had a roomette. It was the best experience ever! The food was divine, the staff were amazing. The bar car was a non-stop party with a load of people who had travelled from Atlantic Canada. At that time, the train went through the Rockies via Banff and Revelstoke. This is the absolutely most awesome scenery. The Spiral Tunnel was amazing. You could see the front of the train going in one direction while the back of the train was going 90 degrees in the other direction. Unfortunately, that route is now used by the Rocky Mountaineer which most Canadians can't afford to take. The trip took 2.5 days. This Jasper route is much longer and different scenery. Definitely, take the train across Canada!

An American couple was driving through Canada. At one point they became lost but saw a gas station up ahead. As they pulled into the station the wife told the husband to go inside and ask the clerk where they were. He did so, and the clerk replied, “Saskatoon Saskatchewan”. Upon returning to the car the wife asked her husband what he had found out. Her husband replied, “He doesn’t speak English”.

As a musician I’ve played on the VIA rail’s Entertainment On Board program a few times. The best gig ever. It is definitely some of my fondest memories ever.
  • @bamadad53
An American here. Really enjoyed your video. I’ve never been to Canada but you provided some of the most beautiful countrysides I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing.
  • I've been blessed to have done this VIA train twice. Absolutely wonderful. Went off season, just as gorgeous. Better prices.
  • @mojgan9362
As a Canadian I’m very proud to say we have a stunning country
  • @vernfraser9737
As an 80 year old Canadian I must say that your report of one of Canada’s proudest assets YOU DO US PROUD. There were several moments in your EXCELLENT (as always) video that it actually sent shivers of pride through my aging body. THANK YOU!
  • @judywidick4028
My husband and I carried my 90 year old dad on the Canadian Railroad trip from Vancouver to Calgary. It was probably one of our favorite vacations, the most beautiful scenery I’ve ever seen. I would recommend this trip to everyone.
  • @8pmprompt
Even at normal class this is a great trip, you don’t need luxuary rooms go talk to fellow passengers and enjoy. Thank you Canada from an appreciate ‘Brit ‘.
  • @nickmooreHDR
I don't think people understand how much work you put into filming, editing, and doing voiceover for this. Excellent job
  • @angelamarie4137
I'm an American who has traveled extensively. Of all the countries I have visited, I can tell you I've never had a bad experience in Canada. They're such beautiful people. ❤
  • @ppageau
It’s a wonderful trip, I’ve done this trip at least 10 times decades ago when I was in my 20’s. I lived in Ontario then hopped on the train to move to Vancouver. I’m thrilled it’s back in motion.
  • @revk8611
As a Canadian, I thank you for making me prouder of my country and my home province of Ontario. I have crossed the country by vehicle a couple of times. Your trip is on my bucket list!
  • @dcm703
It’s so nice hearing an honest discussion of trip pricing. Too often these days you see vloggers saying oh hey we paid for this whole trip with 850,000 miles - but they never bother breaking down how much it is or how they got those miles in the first place
  • As a Canadian, I have to say how much we appreciate your kind and generous comments about our beautiful country. I was born in Toronto, my husband from Saskatoon and two of our children live in Edmonton and Wainwright...all of which you mentioned in your video. In 2018, we crossed our country from Vancouver to Prince Edward Island and back and to see and experience the landscapes and cultures from west to east was memorable. Although you loved your journey, to experience our Provinces of Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes is definitely an adventure not to be missed. Thank you for such an amazing journey.
  • Yes, for all trips - please inform about the “fares” . Thank you. Love your videos
