Ultimate Review Part II : Seymour Duncan Nazgul vs Gibson Les Paul Studio and PRS SE Custom w/ Dimarzio ToneZone    • Ultimate Review Part II : Seymour Dun...

This is one of the nicest guitars I've ever played and it goes for less than $900 so I had to make a complete, detailed critique of my newest and now favorite guitar, the Limited Edition Schecter A-6 (commonly known as the "Avenger") Blackjack in Satin Vampire Red.

Included at the end is a 2 minute update about the year-long lapse of activity and current/future status of my channel. I'm back in action, yo.

Link to Schecter site for this specific model:

Movie clips (in order) are from Step Brothers special features, 300, and Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure.
(Fun fact, the music for the 300 clip was actually from a different scene but the timing of the drums/thumps sync'd up perfectly with that shot too)

Not much of a guitarist, but that A-6 is probably the only guitar I'll ever need. It's close to perfect for my needs: 24 frets, set-through neck, coil-splitting passive pickups...only thing I'd maybe change is the satin finish. My mind also thought Mockingbird before Synyster Gates (not into A7X) - it's certainly a metal guitar, but not in an overbearing way. Fun fact: I found out after buying it that it was released on my birthday. Guess it was meant to be!
  • BTW I replaced the wonderful Grovers that come with it with Grover Locking Tuners. For some stupid reason Grover did not line up the little leg that you put the screw through so I had to drill new holes. And, regrettably, one went all the way through. The locking tuners are much easier to change strings with. The Grover non-locking stay in great tune tho.
  • I just picked up the Gloss black version with a 2+4 style headstock from my local guitar center. Holy crap, is it awesome. Its got these nice crimson circle inlays that are noticeable enough for me to see, but don't stick out enough to ruin the fretboard.

Wow, they should make that Schecter a standard production model, it looks great!
  • Does your tone knob feel a little loose? I just picked one up and looked at everything but that. Aside from using the coil tap I never even turn the tone off. Thanks

I play in a band that gigs 4 hours at least twice a week. I have the white version of this with the duncan jb/jazz. I have, about once a month, I start breaking strings like crazy. Anyone have issues with this bridge style? My hell raiser c1 extreme with tone pros bridge doesn't have that problem...anyone???

Hey man one question does the guitar body have thin bevel contour for your arm. And thenGets thicker i really need to know im about to purchase one.
  • @milmech4376
the only real way to test the guitar is by playing walk
  • You'll value the neck (Sentient) when you grow up. I have that very guitar. The neck pup let's you get single coil sounds with the coil tapper and some classy sounds for other types of music than Pantera.
