Ultimate Review Part II : Seymour Duncan Nazgul

Published 2015-11-20
Ultimate Review Part I : Limited Edition Schecter A-6    • Ultimate Review Part I : Schecter Lim...

This is a complete, comprehensive demo of the Seymour Duncan Nazgul across the entire gain spectrum alongside a Gibson Les Paul Studio and a PRS SE Custom24 with a Dimarzio Tone Zone for tonal comparison and reference.

The Nazgul might be the best pickup I've ever heard; it's like a Les Paul tone taken to a whole new level of modern-style power, which you can hear throughout the video.

I kept everyhing as basic as I could because I wanted the most under-produced, honest, raw representation of the tones from the different pickups. No compression or any other kind of engineering besides minor EQ for as accurate a replication of the original tones as I was able.

Double mic'd ENGL Screamer 50 combo with SM-57 + MXL R-40 into a Steinburg UR44 to DAW. No additional preamps in the chain.

I just came here after looking at the specs on Seymour Duncan's site and the treble and mids are boosted high and at the same level with the bass decreased some. Nice video though.
