John Oliver, being booed at a Sesame Street event, is so on brand because he could not stay silent in front of some corporate nonsense, and I love that for him

I just want to know what person at the Sesame Street company looked at the bank that they were honouring with a fake award and went "You know who should be within 100 miles of this building when we do this? John Oliver" because either that person is blissfully innocent and must be protected at all costs or is an agent of chaos and needs to be feared and respected because they can create problems wherever they go!

John should be a Sesame Street character. He could be Burt’s sarcastic British cousin who breaks down the bleak reality of existence to the kids in short, whimsical tales.
  • @glennwelsh9784
John Oliver simply cannot resist the compulsion to roast a company for its shameful truths even at a Sesame Street event about kindness. 😂
  • @cobrasys
This is why I love John Oliver. He knew it was going to be bad, but he still called BoA for their bullshit marketing. A little bit of charity doesn't undo all of the ghoulishness they've wallowed in, and they SHOULD be called on it at every opportunity.
  • @Studeb
She had it coming, it was like waving a red flag for anybody with the slightest critical thinking.
  • @paxchandler
"Why are you like this?" thought Bert. Also John's parents, his whole life.
  • @bradenhazle4378
I will never get tired of John laughing with his entire body.

Incredible story. I loved the bit about Bert turning to glare at John even more when I realized that meant the puppeteer made the choice to make him do that lmao
  • Love John Oliver. He's so much the anti-Piers Morgan and that's the highest praise I can laud upon a British person. I'm sure John would agree.
  • @johnchessant3012
LMAO ... they were kinda baiting him into doing that, though. I refuse to believe an executive at BofA doesn't know full well their business is not, in fact, built on kindness
  • @tiny99990
I love John specifically because he just cannot resist calling shitty companies out when they pretend they aren't shitty...
  • @StephySon
I’m glad they called em out. Anytime I see any bank commercial or spokesperson tryna talk about how good their banks are and how nice and moral they are I just will never forget 2008 when the economic crisis started and they were the literal epitome of the shrug emoji
  • Jon Stewart, John Oliver and Seth are my favourites for their integrity, sense of humour and love for all humanity ❤
  • @Crow-Fly
John Oliver is one of a kind! Calling out Someone's bullcrap to their face, off the cuff, on stage, when you're supposed to be smchoozing?! Incredible! I don't even think Seth would do that, he'd behave for the fundraisers benefit :)
  • @kareningram6093
I'm in literal tears. 😂 The way he described Bert looking at him. OMG. I love John Oliver.
  • @0e0
i would pay a lot of money to a charity to see John Oliver spit facts at Bank Executive to their faces.
  • @elliehawk817
I can't believe John Oliver was publicly shamed by his hero, Bert.
  • @wakeupbell2491
I APPLAUD John Oliver's quip at BOA!! This clip was mis-titled. It should have been Oliver's superb comeback to BOA's ludicrous pronouncement.
  • @NYredsox
Can John Oliver be a mandatory guest at least once every other week? It can be Friday's, no audience needed... we don't care.
