Only a month before Mac Miller was set to tour his new album Swimming, his life was tragically cut short. While Mac Miller's team was getting ready to posthumously release his recent album Circles, the Los Angeles Police Department were working hard to figure out who was ultimately responsible.

They would discover that on the 4th of September 2018, exactly 61.5 hours prior to his death, Mac Miller would send several text messages to his dealers Cameron Pettit and Mia Johansson requesting to purchase various controlled substances, ultimately resulting in his death.

This video was inspired by "Vault's" video "The Sad Story Behind Mac Miller's Overdose". You can find their version here -    • The Sad Story Behind Mac Miller's Ove...

Thank you very much to my boy Tuv for helping out with the voice work. You can check his channel out here - youtube.com/c/tuv2tuv

Mac did a 1 week recording session in Hawaii at a studio where I worked at. He was the only artist ever that would seek out every studio staff person and thanked everyone for staying late and made sure to shake everyone's hand. Mac had one request that no one be drunk or high on anything for the session including the staff, coffee and cigarettes only. He stuck to it and was sober for the whole session.

knowingly sells laced drugs to a famous rapper and kills them "I'm nervy 🥺"

For anyone wondering - Cameron James Pettit got sentenced to 10 years in prison and Ryan Michael Reavis got sentenced to 11 years
  • Mac got me through the darkest 4 years of my life. I owe my life to him and his music. I hope he's finally at peace. Stay lifted, Mac, we miss you.

If a movie is ever made about Mac Miller, he better be played by the actor who played Fez in Euphoria

Wild how drugs are the same for everyone. Doesn’t matter how rich you are, you’re still up at 2am sweating, waiting for the dealer to show up, praying he doesn’t bail. Glad I’m past that. It’s so sad he didn’t get the chance.

Fez from Euphoria would of been phenomenal to play Mac in a documentary but now R.I.P to both of them 🙏🏽

That break in Mac's Assistant's voice as he just says "please" as his voice starts to crack is always so god damn sad to me. 5 years to the day of his death, rest easy Mac.

His personal assistant is a really good person, bless him for trying
  • Drug addiction is such a horrible thing. It truly destroys the lives of not only the addict, but the family too. RIP Mac Miller. May your family have peace.
  • It took me months to finally watch this video and it was because I knew it was going to break my heart. I am a huge fan of Mac. I love his music and his death hurt my soul. Rest in Peace Mac. It was bullsh*t that you died and you'll never not be missed.
  • Your editing is insane, literally could keep me hooked for hours
  • The footage of him being rolled out of his home on a stretcher broke my heart. I still jam to his music everyday. Rest in paradise Rockstar.
  • @tuv

I just want to say thank you for making this video. It was such an eye opening experience to learn how tragic his final hours where and that this is a learning experience for all.

It's crazy as a former addict those texts from Mac to his dealer are word for word things I've said during a deal. You could've told me they where my texts from 4 years ago and I would've believed you. That's how you know that shits evil, it plays people all the same regardless of the fame.
  • @JuJuz
I really do despise his dealer. He KNEW what he was doing and had the nerve to look him in the face and sell him those faulty pills. RIP Mac he was really taken too soon
