DIC was our customer for almost a decade. We cleared their animation through customs as their broker. I remember visiting their offices many times. A lot of their employees were super cool people. We also stored millions of animation cels for them. My sister still has an inspector gadget clock they gave us in the late 80s.

Amazing how Sega and Nintendo, two major rivals back in the day, both went to DIC to make cartoons of their games

DIC really has been able to hold on to relevancy unlike many others. Stuff like Super Mario Bros Super Show and the Sonic shows single handily has cemented them in history

DIC was a big part of my childhood. I'm glad I got to watch a lot of their cartoons.

I like how they had to have a little child pronounce their name out loud when it was on screen so that people wouldn't think it was supposed to sound like a male reproductive organ.

We can all agree the super Mario bros super show and inspector gadget and the adventures of sonic the hedgehog were DIC’s best shows.

Honestly I had no idea dic existed until the mid 2000s. I thought they died off in the late 90s. As being a 80s kid I can't help but to have a soft place in my heart for dic and the cartoons they did in the 80s and early 90s.

I had no idea they were responsible for sparking my love for Sailor Moon. I got up earlier than I had to for school just so I could watch the dubbed episodes. That alone makes me grateful for DIC.

Man, this explains all these weird company logos I remember seeing in cartoons from that era that were completely absent afterwards. So many companies were involved in this mess.

Have you considered doing one of these about Saban? The Western cast of the initial Power Rangers run worked six days a week, 12-15 hours a day, saw no money for likeness rights on merchandise, royalties, or residuals. From non-union to borderline criminal.

Honestly DIC’s shows being hard to find on streaming services did make me wonder how bad DIC was including the super obvious animation errors and the quality

I’ll never forget one of my parent’s asking what I was watching when they heard the dic sound effect when I watched the Mario bros super show as a kid 😂
