ā€œYour audience is already thereā€ thatā€™s actually such a powerful quote, Iā€™ll use that on my next project ā¤

I have tried to tell people this for years! Even when I made my very first videos I spoke like there were 1000's of people watching.
  • Nate, this video made me cry. It touched me deep to the core. I am in my 10th year of doing YouTube and almost at 10,000 subs! Thank you for these tips because people always say act as if before you make it and your beautifully illustrated how to do it to become a bigger YouTuber. You spoke directly to me. Thank you!!!
  • "Real people doing things that matter"! That's a great insight. It took me a while to realize that my channel was starting to have an impact on people's lives. Now that I understand it and see it happening, it drives me to keep going. Doing something that makes a difference in a positive way is incredibly rewarding. You have certainly done this for MANY people.

"Never forget it's about real people doing things that matter." THAT hit differently. I very much appreciate the tremendous work you do, Nate. Thank you!

Something I've tried to live by: "Direction is more important than position." If you are at the bottom, as long as you are progressing, then you are going to get there. If you are at the top, if you aren't growing, you'll soon be dropping off. So direction is more important than position.

This is such a unique way to view your YouTube channel. A whole different perspective which is actually helpful, and truthful. Because, everyone's audience really is always there, and knowing that, you can be less stressed. Thanks, Nate!

Man, you brought up something that Iā€™ve been thinking about NON-STOP. I get comments like 3:36 ALOT and whereas they feel amazing and Iā€™m extremely grateful for the people saying it, I canā€™t help but start to question WHY Iā€™m not growing to the level they feel I should be at. This really helped shift my perspective and this video is extremely valuable. Thank you šŸ–¤
  • If anyone thought you were "just a presenter" on Channel Makers you have proven them wrong already. These videos are brilliant. Thank you
  • @kurlymeka
I like this idea Nate. When i started my channel i told a few friends then after i just allowed my channel to grow organically and as you said there is already an audience. Now in my second year on youtube my channel audience as grown to over 5000 subscribers.

I love how this goes straight to the mindset aspect of things. I was honestly expecting "practical" advice on how I should probably network and do a whole bunch of marketing stuff lol. This is a fresh take that I haven't heard anyone touch on. I usually trust such advice more cause i know it's guaranteed to work if I'm working from the inside out. Loooved this video. Thank you šŸ’œšŸ’œšŸ’œ
  • This video is exactly what I needed, today. Iā€™m starting my own channel, working like crazy to learn so many things, and hoping to publish on my birthday next week ā€¦ all while shooing away those aggravating doubts. šŸ˜ Thank you, this resonates. I started noticing your content about 6 months ago, and today I booped the like button, subscribed to your email list, and now Iā€™m leaving this comment. Three things I donā€™t do all that frequently. I appreciate you, thank you!! šŸ’ÆšŸ‘ŒšŸ¼šŸ˜Ž

This video was JUST what I needed. Not only for my YT channel but also for my mental space while I'm trying to get my art and writing career off the ground. Thank you! šŸ’œ

Hey Nate - I just want to say a huge huge thank you. Words can't describe how you have helped change my life. I started a channel about two years ago and had never done anything YouTube related before. I needed to learn everything from scripting, filming, editing, publishing and I learned most of that from you. But most of all I learned how to do what you talk about in this video - truly believe that my audience exists and that I can be successful. Lo and behold I'm being hired for my absolute dream job running digital video for one of the largest soccer media companies in the US. I did the work, but you were there most of the way to help me onwards. I know it's not "you vs Channel Makers" and I had even been a part of Project 24 specifically because of you, but even today both of your thumbnails were next to each other on my home page... guess which one I clicked on first. Thank you Nate, good luck on your new project. I'll be watching!
  • @ViolinHobby
You are a confidence maker, Nate. So good to see you and hear you talk so freely...
  • @JaredKauffman
I honestly hadn't watched a Channel Makers videos in a while. Not for any particular reason, but I just got caught up with life happening. After seeing these three uploads of yours so far, however, I'm really grateful for your authenticity, vulnerability, and integrity, and I plan on sticking around because of that. "It's about real people doing things that matter." Thank you for what you're doing!! šŸ™ŒšŸ’Æ

SOOOOO glad you are still on YouTube! You have helped my channel in many waysā€¦.still have heaps to improve butā€¦your tips are so valuable!! Keep up the great work because we are so grateful for your genuine and generous help!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Nate, you sir are the reason why I went from no voice and always shy to over 500 subs and still growing. Keep it going man! I loved this advice because Iā€™ve seen it myself in my channel. I was stuck around 70 subs the moment I pivoted slightly and started to think bigger I grew bigger. Thank you for all you do for us smaller creators!
  • @jeycholz
Hey Nate! This is just what I needed to hear! Thank you so much for posting this! It was amazing to hear and inspirational! Knowing my audience is there definitely helps shifts my mindset to be even more confident on my videos! šŸ’ÆšŸ’Æ
