The United States Forest Service and other firefighting agencies are busy battling several wildfires burning in Washington’s North Cascades. The fires vary in size from hundreds of acres to more than 30,000 acres.

The USFS Pacific Northwest Region wrote in a news release Tuesday that 45 days have passed without widespread “wetting rain” across the Pacific Northwest.

Firefighters from as far away as North Carolina and Wisconsin are helping fight the wildfires burning in western Washington.

The Pioneer Fire burning on the north shore of Lake Chelan in Chelan County has grown to more than 30,600 acres as of Tuesday afternoon. Crews are working to protect the small community of Stehekin.

80 degrees ?? Until Monday was the first day in more than a couple weeks under 90 degrees. I live 20 miles north. I am afraid of the heat, I'm more afraid of when smoke comes. Everything is so dry and if there's a fire it will be a disaster. I am afraid....
  • Spring coming as early as it did? I drove through the park June 2nd and ran into snow going through the pass.
  • This is a prime example of why more people need to get more prepared and think about "Emergency Preparedness Management" for both your home and vehicles. I am a YouTuber under my Full-Name with the same profile picture as this post with 46 videos covering 26 different category topic subjects sharing my personal knowledge and experiences with others to help others improve their adult lives overall. I've got videos on building yourself a high quality 24-72 Hour Survival Bug Out Bags, Home and Vehicle Preparedness and Readiness advice videos, several Financial Literacy advice videos, a dozen Cooking Creation Recipes videos, and more!
  • PCT thru hikers are screwed. This year might have been the last time to hike the entire trail in one go. Following Lil Chap on the PCT, he's in Northern California, closing in on Oregon, where things are bad.
  • Two wildfires burning in central wa. One north of Naches the Black canyon fire is at 11,000 acres and Rimrock retreat is west of Naches currently at 9000-10,000 acres and growing with 0% containment on both
  • What about the Spotted Owls??? I moved to Wa. State 35 years ago and no one could cut a twig!!! Wonder if the logging industry would of been a better management plan!!!! 😂😂😂
  • @apisdude
can I write a check to make this stop?
  • Well I do feel bad for people living in evacuation zones, but I also think that the news channels are notorious for blowing things out of proportion. Not only news channels, but acquaintances and friends too. I just got back from a backpacking trip on mt. hood. My friends, who are not even hikers, were concerned that I might be in the proximity of the larch creek fire. I knew that I was NOT and to put their minds at ease I checked with the ranger district first. Yes it is important to check conditions first if you are going hiking or backpacking and check with the ranger district of the area you are going into and be careful, but still SO many people do not get it. Here's another example, three years ago I was doing a week long campout with my hiking club in Packwood near mt rainier. At the time there was a large wildfire burning somewhere east of mt. rainier. Despite the fire, we still did a lot of hiking and plenty of trails were open. This is why I say that people who are non hikers 'do not get it'. The news channels only futher perpetuate people's paranoia imo. I have been hiking and backpacking for over 20 years and I do not trust everything I see on the news! Looking at inciweb and contacting the ranger districts ARE the best way to find out about trail conditions.
  • Insleeze fires starting right on time. Never had these things before he was in office, so we name them after him.
  • GLORY!!!!! I'm favoured, $255k every 3weeks! I can now afford anything and also support God's work and the church.
  • There doing what they can........ Do you really believe that 😂😂😂😂😂😂
