Welcome to the official YouTube channel of The Monkees, home of 60s chart-topping hits “Last Train To Clarksville,” “I’m A Believer” and “Daydream Believer,” as well as multi-platinum, #1 albums ‘The Monkees,’ ‘More of the Monkees,’ ‘Headquarters’ and ‘Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd.’

Monkee-mania began in Los Angeles in 1965 when Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, the late Peter Tork and the late Davy Jones were cast in the eponymous television series about a struggling rock band inspired by The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night. The quartet brought a singular mix of pop, rock, psychedelia, Broadway and country to their resulting music. By the time the series aired its final episode on March 25, 1968, The Monkees had sold 16 million albums and 7.5 million singles. Few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would have on music and pop culture at large, one that still reverberates more than 50 years later.

It’s sad that Micky is the last one remaining, but it also warms heart that he is still here to keep the memories of his bandmates alive.

"Cheer up, sleepy Jean," on that minor three chord, especially with the harmony, is one of the sweetest moves in all of music

My amazing wife Jeannie passed away this morning. This was her favorite song since she was a young girl. Off course I had to come here. Love you always Baby Bird.
  • Listening to this the day of Michael Nesmith's passing. I hope Peter and Davey greeted you at the pearly gates with open arms, Mike.

Dad's favourite song, died in 2014, absolutely legendary song.
  • I been a fan since 1966. I actually CRIED when Davy passed. Same with Peter.I didn't want The Monkees to get old, I wanted them to stay just like they are in this video!

RIP Micheal Nesmith. Believe it or not, back in the 80s they were still showing reruns of the Monkees on Saturday mornings after cartoons. What a treat. Kids who stream will never understand nor the satisfaction of Saturday mornings.

Amazing!I can hear and SEE this now! I am a 66-year-old Japanese woman, and I loved The Monkees Sow when I was a little girl. Daydream Believer has been one of my favorite songs for the past 50-60 years!
  • Born in 1960 I had the pleasure of growing up in the 60’s and 70’s and watching The Monkeys on t.v. I miss those days immensely!
  • I'm listening in June 2024. The Monkeys have always been one of my favorites.

RIP to three of the four Monkees! Damn... upon Mike's death I looked deeper into the band and they really were CRIMINALLY underrated as artists. Great catalogue, great sense of humor, great presentation. Timeless, in a way.
