I remember being disheartened at Mass the day when I heard the view of sharing. Thank you Dr. Pitre.

Dr Pitre, Thank you for debunking the Miracle of sharing with one another in the feeding of the 5,000. Even some Catholics have this view. Love your teachings. God bless you!💕

Thank you for your explanation. I heard the sharing view and it bothered me. Thank you, Brandon!

As always, illuminating insight. I read the passage since childhood but never saw it this way.

Yeah! Dr. Pitre, thank YOU, for clearing this up in a way I can actually understand. I have gotten into successful debates on this very topic. I did not have a substantial argument to back my theory that this was a MIRACLE and not sharing. Now I have one that my opponents can understand why this is NOT a miracle of sharing but an actual MIRACLE! Thank YOU!🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰

    Thank you, Dr. Pitre!
  • A pastor of my former church indeed preached the “sharing” interpretation of the text. He was not very orthodox in other ways, but I also think it appealed to him because it fit in with the near exclusive emphasis on social justice in the denomination. I no longer attend that church.

Great explanation, following the event we find the people following Jesus, and he tells them, you are following me because of the bread you eat not because of my words... .. that alone points to multiplication
  • For a scholar, I think this is the most violent kind of smack down one can give to a biblical theory. Well done! Thoroughly debunked.

I have to admit I had never heard this theory, and would likely have considered it absolute bunk before even listening to this, but thank you, Dr. Pitre, for clearly explaining why it absolutely is.

Thank you! I still remember our "Religious Education" teacher in my catholic highschool 20 years ago emphasizing that it was a "miracle of sharing", and me just shaking my head thinking she was wrong since Jesus could create miracles greater than just multiplying bread. Even as a semi agnostic back then I knew that she was wrong on that point.

Great work. Love your way of explaining theology. It would be terrific if you could make a video explaining Judges 19, I think that chapter should have a deeper meaning. God bless 🙏
  • I hadn't been seeing these videos in a while now. I feel like youtube is sabotaging me!
  • Wonderful channel Dr. Pitre, always learn so much. Would love your take on the book Through the Eyes of Jesus by Alan Ames, a book describing our Lords journey with his disciples. You get to read Jesus's thoughts as events unfold. Great channel again, thanks.
