The Best Hogwarts System Yet | LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle Boathouse (76426) Review

LEGO Harry Potter's March 2024 wave has gotten me excited about the theme again. The reboot of the Hogwarts Castle system is a driving factor as to why, but to get so little value for it's price, is it worth hopping behind a whole new layout AGAIN?

  • I love how this has 5 minifigures! Especially mcgonnagal since I didn’t get the transfiguration classroom or trunk
  • Professor McGonagall has arm printing in a $38 set, but Fox in a 100 plus dollar set has no arm printing, a 20 year old visor in desperate need of an update, and no cloth waist cape?! Make it make sense?! Why can't Star Wars be as good as Harry Potter? 😢😂

I'm annoyed they've made another system but this has potential. Fortunately I haven't really opened any of the green roof sets so I'm thinking of either selling them sealed or opening them and using the pieces for MOCs to go with the new system if it looks good.

Be interesting to see what the rest of the castle will look like before buying….

the infobox and the parts being laid out (~0:28) are very cool, hope you keep those in future videos
  • I just absolutely love this set, and since I just got back into Lego last year, I'm game to start building my collection of HP sets.

One of the things I wasn't keen on with the triwizard set is the number of larger pieces. While that could help with the cost somewhat, it is quite limiting in terms of reuse, customizability, etc. With these sets, using more of the standard pieces makes it easier to integrate into custom builds, extend, and MOC. For example, if you wanted to expand out the lake and attach the boathouse to that.

This is the only one that looked really appealing from this wave, but I will wait for all of the reviews before buying anything!! Keep up the great work Holly!!

Great review, looks like a nice set McGonagall is amazing. I’ve felt tired from lego Harry Potter in the last couple years but I’m starting to feel my 2018 excitement again

I'm in love with all the Harry Potter sets. Harry Potter is my childhood and i will always check out those sets. Love you content Holly. Keep it up :) P.S, i love the dark clothing on the students.
  • Love the editing, especially during the intro! I think I'll pass on this set but am definitely gonna pick up that McGonagall figure with the arm printing at some point! Awesome review and video as always!
