This short video was filmed at Seven Brethren in Barnstaple and the build-up for the town's annual funfair.
Captured on Monday evening at 1800hrs in low light
this year, there are not many stalls yet a healthy mix of larger rides
the Barnstaple Fair history dates back to 1852 (approximately)
every year before the fair is opened to the public, a proclamation ceremony takes place within the town's guildhall with the appointed mayor and local dignitaries, and then a large gloved hand is traditionally pushed from a window at the top of the guildhall Hall to mark the proclamation.
