Wow that Sharpie just added the right amount of pizzazz! Not too much! Love it and I would have never thought of it.
  • @Sewlady718
That is truly amazing. I've been sewing for over 50 years and I'm still not that brave. LOL. The jacket is just gorgeous and I love the Sharpie detail. Bravo!!!
  • @karengoog7595
The sharpie detail is genius and gorgeous. It looks so natural with the check pattern and the loose weave of the material. Bravo!
  • LOL, when you said "Sharpie", I had to rewind to be sure I heard what I thought I heard!! But an excellent result. Way to think outside the box!!!
  • @lizzieBabes
You should see my face, thinking about all those oversize jackets in my closet. OMG, you have created a monster!!!

Catherine. This was amazing to watch. I love that when you de-construct to then construct something new I learn more about construction of garments and can see it in my minds eye. I love that you did the trim with your sharpie. I’m working my way back through your videos. You should have a lot more subscribers. I’m going to let everyone I know about you. Karen x

"It'll be fine. Don't worry..." she says with a laugh. I laughed right out loud, Catherine. You are such an amazing teacher! So much helpful detail😊
  • @JoytoWorld
What?!!! A Sharpie?!!! It's brilliant!! I'd love to have that level of design confidence!

Smart lady...appreciate the time and effort to inspire to upcycle instead of simply throwing out. Bodes well for sustainable living and looking after our planet for generations to come. Keep up the good work.
  • Watching you remake your awesome finds brings back memories! I was a seamstress (as my home business) for almost 30 years! I would say 80% was alterations, which I came to love! Sometimes a little stressful since it was someone else’s clothing. I’m almost 67 and have slowed down quite a bit, sewing now for myself and family. I LOVE TO SEW!!!

Love this Catherine, the Sharpie was a stroke of genius, just goes to show if you step away from a project for a while inspiration comes!
  • @sheribazar698
i LOVE the way you teach! You make it all so clear and easy to understand. We YouTube viewers and your school students are lucky to have such a great teacher!
  • Girl, you are crazy! But in a good way. Love the result - very creative and really pretty.
  • @momzilla9491
Wow Catherine! I didn't know whether you were going to pull this one off, but the Sharpie made all the difference. What imagination!!! Way to go Girl!
  • @cindycoven1
I loved this. I thought it was about the same as making a tailored jacket but you didn’t have to buy the fabric. Plus no button holes! Yea.
  • @emikon103
So cool!!! Very creative and high end looking. Gives it a more edgy look.
  • @cussot
What a twist! The result looks great, kind of like scattered seed beads. I think I would have cobbled together a back facing out of the scraps.
