Fun fact. Jesus's real name was Yesua which is for modern day Joshua. He was Joshua ben Joseph. Joshua son of Joseph... Yes. Jesus WAS the first Jojo.

I need to correct you on one thing. There is no connection between jojo part 1-6 and jojo 7-9. The universe reset only changed the fate of part 6 characters. The story of parts 1-5 still happened. Jolyne and others just got a better ending. Araki did not even named part7 "Jojos" it was named originally only "Steel ball run" but it was later changed to make it more appealing for long standing fans of Jojo. Araki confirmed that it is a stand alone series and part 6 ending did not create part 7.

Jesus Christ in jjba is actually crazy 😂 sbr is a masterpiece though for sure

I liked valentine for the exact opposite reason, I think what makes a really good villain is the fact that you can't sympathize with him, he is truly evil and not a "literally me" character. he's a selfish, arrogant and ruthless with a "dark determination" as ringo calls it and honestly when you read his backstory, you end up hating him even more because of how selfless and loving his father was only for his child to consider dictatorship the ONLY right way of advancing as a civilization.

the main reason why it became such a popular manga is beacause part 7 entierly stands out with the cowboy theme and featuring 2 main protagonist who actully work really good as a team. in many fights of the manga they fight way better then the stardust crusaders ever did xd.

also reading part 7 jojo is like reading jojo again with a fresh new adventure since its not connected to any previous part which makes it both a good read for old fans and new fans which is genius!
  • I think the reason the stand fights feel more meaningful here is because they almost always move the plot forward, which was a rare thing in early parts, especially 3.

my favorite part of the manga is that it starts with Jonny not being able to walk at all, by the end of the manga he learns to walk throught the power of spin which makes you feel like its really been a long journey and i love that!

You can easily just say that sbr is a story of 2 jockies racing to gather the corpse parts of jesus christ and thats instantly a classic.

"My Heart and Actions are Utterly Unclouded, They are all those of Justice"
  • "Jesus used a stand" alone deserves the 1st rating, the rest is just to sell better.

It has jesus as possibly the 1st jojo and actually respectfully potrayed his character unlike now modern movies

Another small correction besides the top comment, the poses are not just "almost fashion inspired"...A lot of the poses are 1:1 of designer brand poses from shoots Araki studied

Not only is it the best but it’s actually completed. Take that Berserk and Vagabond😂JK

Part 7 has my favorite artstyle (although I adore all of the styles in JJBA, they’re all peak to me). My style for years was based around Part 3 and 4, however very recently I decided to study the Part 7 style and my god it was the best decision I have ever decided to make because it improved my art significantly imo. This manga straight up changing my life out here.

What stood out in part 7 for me is how I was taken back to Jonathan's character development, which is fitting as Johnny is his alternate indeed. Personally, part 1 just felt too short for a proper story that I saw Zeppeli's death only as a justification for Jonathan to match Dio's power level after being given a good training arc, but it then seemed rushed. This was then quenched by Joseph's appearance in part 2 which also showed his character and strength development that's identical to Jonathan but in a more natural-looking way, without power transfer and all. Though I think the reason why lots of fans stuck to Joseph as their favorite was due to how this formula being almost non-existent in Parts 3-6 Jojos. So when I got to Steel Ball Run few years ago and saw that Johnny is starting out as powerless, I knew it was gonna be a wild ride and he'll be my favorite Jojo. Just didn't expect it to be my overall favorite part after finishing it lol.
