Check out the new Dewalt 20Volt Max 21 Degree Cordless Framing Nailer Kit, model number DCN21PL. This tool will be launched in September of 2018. I'm thankful to The Home Depot and being a member of their ProSpective Program, so I can give you a first hand look at this tool before it launches. The kit includes the nail gun, a carrying bag, 20V 4Ah battery, no-mar tip, and a battery charger. This tool is completely cordless, so there's no need for a generator, compressor, fuel, air hose, etc. Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to respond.

Question of the day: Are you ready to switch from pnenumatic to battery powered? Is 845 nails per charge enough for the work you would do?

  • I am a homeowner with a day job who does not do anything construction related for a living. That being said I am working on framing out my basement and Bought this youtube.com/post/UgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwui… gun. I have done a few walls already, have probably shot a couple hundred nails through this thing and have yet to have a misfire. It works awesome, good depth on every nail if you have your compressor set right. My literal only complaint is that it is a bit heavy and my arm can get a little tired especially whrn I am nailing at odd angles. That being said I am super happy with it and would buy it again. Hoping the old girl allows me to get my whole basement finished out!
  • I just got this gun and it is amazing. With Battery Technology like it is today I've literally cut the cord on all my tools. And only use battery power and get better performance now. I have two big DeWalt bags full of batteries and they last me about a month before I have to recharge again.
  • Cordless nailers are high high on my list of needs. I got to use a friends and fell in love. And, I thought DeWalt already had a cordless nailer out? I dont think cordless will ever replace framers and roofers pneumatic. Those boys have them pneumatic nailers down to a art.
  • Thank you so much for this video I am looking at buying this for myself as a single country girl I am building my tool belt up and this is on my NEXT NEED list.
  • Would love to see the Crazy Framer give this nail gun a go on his YouTube channel. 21 degree plastic over 30 degree paper is the way to help eliminate jams.

Solid review!!! I couldn't really find one that was really in depth like yours! Thanks for an awesome video. I'll have to pick one up soon. Do construction for a living and been wanting to try it out! Thankyou!
  • Very nice gun. Mine is comming next Tuesday December 11. I can't wait to work with that nailer.
  • The first power that came up with this design was Hetachi, I almost bought the hetachi but then I didn’t want to buy another set of different brand of battery, So I’m glad Dewalt came up with this
  • Thx for the video my gun got jammed. And we didn't know what to do in tell we saw the video.
  • thank you so much for you are video I 've wondered this product .
  • Ok i bought 1 in swapmeet for 180, supposedly like new but when i used it , didnt hit nail in deep, i dont think i gotta wait for a second to push trigger plus the 1, would not turn on, im kinda new to cordless framin nails, btw i did returned it
  • The DCN21PL 20V is good for occasional framing but would never make any progress in production framing. I use the 20V platform in a number of different DeWalt tools but I'll stick to my Bostitch pnuematic nail guns. Everything I need (guns, nails, hoses, compressor, and, yes, a little bottle of oil all fit nicely in my work van. There is no time delay (warmup) with air-driven guns. I like that!

If only one stick why didn’t we go shorter yet on the magazine? The reasoning it’s not shorter is because whether we went with the 1 stick or 2 stick design, the dry fire lockout still needs to be in place regardless (which adds about an additional 5 nails of capacity to both magazines). Additionally, we looked at all types of nails….ours, Grip Rite, Paslode, other generics and found that not all stick lengths are compatible (same length), so we took the length of 1 stick of the longest strip of nails we could find plus the dry fire lockout distance.
