Stopped here on February 4, 2016 and happened to hit the colony just as EVERYTHING was going on--mating, fighting, nursing babies. Wow. This only happens for a short period each year--if you live in California, be sure to put it on your bucket list. This is a spectacular place to be up close to hundreds of amazing elephant seals.
