I get that a lot of people love the abridged series, but I feel that not enough of these comments are praising this amazing series and its god tier voice work.

This. This is why Alucard is more interesting than most other overpowered protagonists. He's not meant to be likable or relatable, like so many others are intended to be (only to fail). He's a monster, ready to snap at a moment's notice and kill everything, and the only thing that holds him back is his contract with the Hellsing family. He's scary, he'd be the villain if not for his bond to Integra. And Freeman's performance sells every bit of this horrifying intensity.
