Some tips for alpha: 1) In the jungle, upgrade your 1st skill first because Alpha's passive lasts for 5s and his 1st skill only has a cooldown of 4s while the 2nd skill has 6s, so you can spam his first skill to constantly trigger his passive 2) Always priorities waraxe in exp lane because it will allow you to heal back through minion waves 3) Don't pick alpha if the enemy draft consists of high CC and blink skills, High CC can interrupt his combos and enemies can avoid his ult with dashes, so pick alpha when these two criterias are not met in the enemy team ( Alpha is still decent against dash skills if you can time your ult correctly) 4) If you are falling behind, just farm as much as you can. Alpha is one of the most scariest heroes in the late game 5) Avoid using full damage build on Alpha, I used to do it but a sustain build is more helpful than dieing every 2 seconds Hope these tips help you, Alpha is insanely powerful so make sure to utilise that power

I spent thousands mathes with him already and what you`ve said is true, he is quiet difficalt to master, so you need to practise a lot, understand the situation on the field to decide when to attack. I'm Xavier's mainer. You should not take him to the solo rank if you are not sure about the help of your allies. He can do a lot, but it's pretty easy to kill him. And if he is killed, it opens up a lot of opportunities for opponents. Now I have losestruck on him because of stupid allies and my mmr has dropped by 300 in just a few games.

I really recommend using Argus in solo rank ques since Argus's weakness would be ganking especially in the early state where the enemy prioritizes Argus's lane in 5 man ques or trios, in my opinion solo would be perfect for him since not much enemies in solo cooperate that well and the odds of ganking are much lower
