SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse Police and the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office are running a joint investigation into Sunday's shooting deaths of two members of law enforcement. In their first live, joint interview since the tragedy in Salina, Onondaga County Sheriff Toby Shelley and Syracuse Police Chief Joe Cecile revealed new information on the investigation.

The gunman, Christopher Murphy, 33, of Salina last had known contact with law enforcement because of a DWI arrest in 2014. Earlier this week, Chief Cecile indicated authorities were looking at "something" in the gunman's past that may have led to Sunday's carnage.

    Not religious but I believe Violence begetx violence...maybe public SERVANTS need to slow their roll and grow up and accept ocupational hazzards and consequences of disrespecting the public and constitution

    My parents would never have let me accumulate that many long guns and ammo besides keep them in the house. My Dad would have said no way. The liberal parents again are a conduit to this sad outcome.
