How I taught AI to be kind, why fearing AI lowers your vibe, and how building AI for good is the key to profitability. Brook Wineland: Data Science Engineer, 2 time CEO, High School Lacrosse coach and a Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Denver. As the founder of “the happiness algorithm”, Brook has deployed generative ai systems across fortune 500 companies for 10 years to arrive at the conclusion: We become better humans when we embrace the machines. She leads the most lucrative IT stack integrations by teaching people to start with the question: How can I use ai to positively impact people (and the world)? This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

  • I acknowledge you too Brook! Thank you for being a pioneer in this space. AI has such incredible potential to democratize empathic reflections, therapeutic coaching and support, accelerate the transition to the circular economy, and spark entrepreneurship and creative problem solving instead of jobs and a school system that destroy our love of learning and sap our energy. We've got a lot to figure out, and AI safety matters, job displacement is an important concern, but the good is massive as well.

May it serve the highest good indeed! I love the questions you raise - slightly paraphrased; How am I going to use AI to create as much goodness as I can? If we can work through the scary and negative parts of AI, and consider how much capacity we have to make a difference in the world; what would we do with AI? How much fun, kindness and goodness can we generate? How will we use it to create the greatest good? How can we ensure that this technology we are creating will help as many people as possible and serve the highest good?
