The curious george racist allegory one is honestly extremely uncomfortable to me, bc monkeys are naturally extremely curious and mischevious creatures, I think it's more racist to assume it's abt black people bc a common racist depiction/charicature of black ppl are showing them as monkies, I think whoever made the theory is thinking way too hard abt it

The reason that Caillou episodes actually have that white border is because they are all retellings of past stories. They are all being told by an older version of Caillou’s sister who is now a grandmother reading the stories to her grandchildren.

I don't understand how The Teletubbies literally reference s** but Tinky Winky being purple and having a purse was the most controversial thing that ever happened.
-
The thing was few people cared about Ratburn getting married: everyone was shocked over Arthur still being on TV because everyone assumed it ended in the 2010s
-
I love watching icebergs about stuff like this not many people do icebergs anymore
-
I was too broke for cable so PBS and Qubo basically raised me.
-
Honestly I loved PBS kids when I was younger. I only watched it in like the 2010s but I still cherish it to this day

When it comes to voice acting, talent should be just as if not more important than when it comes to whoever is voicing the character. Obvious statement, but whether a white person is voicing a black character or the other way around, the talent of said individual should matter. If you ask me, people getting mad and trying to ban someone for voicing a different skinned character because said voice actor is not the same color is racist itself. Not to mention it’s throwing a stereotype on how certain individuals should sound. Like blacks all having the urban accent(Which of course not all do).

I'm surprised "Barney Cussing" didn't make the list. One of the most popular playground rumors of all time was that there was a banned episode of Barney where he cussed at the kids.
-
The "the character is dead or in his death bead" theory is getting super old I've seen it for many different shows
-
I grew up watching Jay Jay the Jet plane. I remember even having one of his models. Looking back it was a horrific show and way more disturbing than I could have realized at 3, 4, or 5 years old. I am also shocked they took down the kids website! I was on there all the time as a kid.

This was a pretty epic iceberg and I did grew up with PBS but around the 2010s not the 90s or 2000s but thats fine and still pretty epic iceberg
-
What's wrong with a white actress voicing a black character? There's plenty of black/Asian/hispanic voice actors who voice white characters.

The south park animation style aurthur episode was ALWAYS my absolute FAVOURITE (still is lol)
-
"Caillou is a toddler with cancer." The one child nobody will feel sorry for if they die of cancer.
-
I used to have nightmares about the pbs kids logo and that the person would come into my room and tickle me (I hated being tickled) and the only way to end my dream was to jump off of something super high like a ledge and I would wake up. It happened from age 4 or 5 Ish to like 7

i learned from fundie friday’s video on the teletubbies that the voice actor for po spoke mandarin! that “slur” is actually her saying some variation of “go fast!” in mandarin

There were like 3 main channels I watched when I was younger: Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Minimax (which had PBS shows). This brings nostalgia
-
So I actually had 3 interesting experiences with PBS Kids. I remember Evil Elmo being a thing, the time I heard a rumor about a banned Barney the Dinosaur episode where he cussed a lot, and the one time I once typed "PBS Kids in the future" for some reason, and there was a text-to-speech video saying "You're watching PBS Kids." What's weird is that I remember there being a recommended video of a fan animated Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode, like I think it was Treehouse of Horror 50 or something. Pre-2010 YouTube was a weird time.
