A series of fires have hit French high-speed rail lines, hours before the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.

Rail company SNCF said it is a "massive attack aimed at paralysing the network" and France's transport minister condemned the "co-ordinated malicious acts".

Some 800,000 customers are affected with disruption expected all weekend, the rail firm said.

If its a coordinated series of incidents, then it must be an organised group with some agenda, so who or what is the group and what point are they making or protesting?? And why is BBC not even asking these basics?
