YouTube has been a poorly managed mess for years, but this is some next level nonsense. Looks like there's been a gas leak over at YouTube HQ because this QuantumTV vs Act Man situation has ended up in an absolutely baffling place. #JusticeForActMan

"This guy sucks" the delivery and simplicity of that line made my day. LMAO I CANT STOP LAUGHING! You had to blur the cucumber image

Never forget that Susan created and sponsored an award show, then gave her self a "Free Expression Award" last year. This is absolutely vile.

I've got a friend who's entire channel got nuked for nudity once, even though tons of people had uploaded the game. She got an email saying that she just forgot to mark the video 18+ and that it's alright, they marked it, and there won't be a strike. Hours later her channel was terminated and she never got it back. All YouTube on twitter did was give her bot responses about how they made the right decision. I really hope things go better for Act Man

They didn't just fail Act Man, they failed all of us, and their standing as they did not uphold even their own rules.
  • At this point the words "terms of service" mean "whatever excuse we can think of to ban people we disagree with"

I got claimed 5 times for a video about this. It's getting insane

I was convinced that The Act Man was a decent guy when Quantum threatened his family via direct contact with them, and The Act Man DIDN'T do what I would have done (which is track down Quantum and beat him within an inch of his life for even attempting to interact with my family)

When the internet needed him the most, he returned… Thanks a ton for covering this situation man. This entire thing has been really crazy and it is just baffling that YouTube has taken the course of action that they have. It is only gonna lead to negative press.
  • This is equivalent to getting fired from your long time job for complaining to HR because your co-worker, Steve, cannot stop talking about the damn blacks destroying his neighborhood, even though there are none in his neighborhood. And you could've sworn he was fired 3 years ago, so he shouldn't even be at the office.

Not to downplay what happened to Act Man, but you calling out YouTube as a demoralizing place to create is 100% spot on. The last few years have been really difficult. It seems like no matter what I try I can't reach my own audience. And God forbid you try to create something original that's just good for its own sake instead of having to compete in this psychological Olympics called titling and thumbnails. Idk what they did to break the algorithm but most creators I know personally are not happy with it.
  • Stuff like this makes me wish YT didn't basically have a monopoly on non social media video sharing.

my fiancé is part of a sonic-based youtube channel. the whole category got nuked recently. no matter how graphic or adult the content, every sonic animation channel has been deemed "for kids": eliminating comments, limiting revenue, and stifling growth. several large channels seemingly overnight were hit all at once. when they grouped up on twitter to fight back like a union, they were met with silence. when you say "no one is safe", youre damn right.

It’s crazy that YouTube spends their time and resources doing a big, flashy announcement rollout removing the dislike button “for the protection of creators mental health” or whatever (even though creators still have access to all the dislike data on the backend…) while letting creators’ ACTUAL concerns and feedback languish for YEARS at this point. Literally what was the point of Susan meeting with H3 and dozens of other creators over the years? Wasn’t the point of those meetings to gather specific points of feedback that creators have, so they could be addressed? I’ve given YouTube the benefit of the doubt forever now, because it truly does take a ton of time and careful consideration and data analysis to launch sweeping changes that will affect millions upon millions of creators and viewers, but there’s just no reason why, at minimum, they shouldn’t have launched a comprehensive “Creator Service Center” or something at this point, so that creators can easily get in touch with actual people at YouTube to investigate and sort out situations like this. They could open a few call centers and hire a ton of people to be points of contact so that a creator can just pick up the phone and work with them directly. Think of how many new jobs they could create! I guess Google doesn’t have the money for that though.

"I should be on TikTok dancing" - That's exactly what they want you all to be doing.

They didn't just fail Act, they failed us all.

I don't normally subscribe to conspiracy theories, but I genuinely feel like there's a person at YT actively gunning for Act Man
