Episode 4.Henry works on the appeal for a man convicted of killing his partner in a twisted sexual triangle, while his own love triangle takes on a few new twists of its own. A missing Ferrari, long-hidden secrets, and difficult clients all push Henry to his limits.

The Brief follows the work of defence barrister Henry Farmer (Alan Davies), whose complicated personal life manages to overlap into his work. With an overbearing workload, debt and alimony payments to meet, as well as being in love with the wife of a prominent politician who won't leave her husband for him, Henry is forced to set his own demons to one side to tackle cases that only he can win. The show was described by the Radio Times as an "engaging blend of courtroom drama, suspense, intrigue and humour".

What a great series! What a wonderful character Henry Farmer is. He is a kitten in the court room but has a big roar and comes out a winner! He has the ability to cheer up an unhappy worker and make her smile. I think I'm in love with this guy!

Love Alan Davis and the lovable character he plays. A basically good human being with his heart in the right place, combined with honest, fair and just approach to resolving and getting his clients off their crime charges.

I like this series. Not violent like the crime series, but very entertaining. I like the humor and the clever plotlines so far. It's not depressing. It cheers me up. Humans are still their rotten selves, but we can laugh at them for that instead of stifling our urge to vomit from disgust.

Excellent pacing! The Brief always bears a well written script making complicated cases understandable to the ordinary layman! Excellent acting by Alan Davies!
