I’m from Minnesota, but I’ve lived in Berlin for 34 years. I’ve never felt closer to my home state than I do right now. I was a teacher in Minnesota and also in Berlin for 22 years. I’ve always understood Tim Walz as the Real Deal. Soon after he became Governor he connected with students in a way I’ve never seen from a public official. In North Minneapolis, where segregation still persists, and where I taught for my last year in Minneapolis. A football star and honors student named Deshaun Hill, Jr. was shot at a bus stop in North Minneapolis. Governor Walz went to North High to mourn with his classmates. I’ve never forgotten this act of kindness and concern for young people hurting. He sat at a table, no suit coat or tie, to listen to their sadness and fears. As a teacher, I’ve never forgotten this act as a human first, as a governor second. This generous spirit is what the country needs.

After all these years of hateful Trump. We have Magic Energy in the Democrats VP and Presidential candidates.. these are Real People. And they are Really Good People. So impressed with all three speeches. Starting with Josh Shapiro tearing the roof off the venue.. Then Kamala Harris had wonderful things to say.... Introducing Governor Tim Walz for VP.
